most young lad learning these skills are also jobless as a result of inability to afford working tools. Some has dumped their skills to hustle just to feed themselves. The country is up side down sir
Sure, however, start small, start local, learn a skill that is relevant to your area of study to make your certifcate useful. Let me give you an example, if you studied accounting, learn a skill like Peachtree, Daceasy, Tallly etc. If you studied computer science learn coding or data analysis, web design, networking etc. these are just a few of the examples that can help you align your skill with our certifcate. Or you learn any skill that can make you stand out even without your certifcate. Video editing, graphic design etc. guys need to come out of their shells to learn something that will discomfort them for just a while for a better future

I can't burn any of my certificates cos I earned it the hard way...

✌️

I bet u those certs were not the originals. It's a printed coloured version.

I have all my certs scanned to my mail and iCloud, so I can decide to print out a coloured version of them and burn them for the cam.

Good morning sir.
I want to ask a question.
How can one be a lecturer?
Asin what are the procedures for me to apply?
I want to become one.
flexydote:
I can relate to this but then I wouldn't burn them because at least I laboured for the cert.

Meanwhile, it is disheartening to see M.Sc. holders and even Ph.d holders doing menial jobs.

I see Nigeria educational system as a virtuous circle - you finish B.Sc., you are told to do your Masters if you must at least rank up for job opportunities and you go ahead to get your M.Sc. after that still no job then you look for a secondary school to teach just to hold body while getting 60k salary for teaching like 3 Subjects.

Some people will then go and marry while some will go and pursue their P.hd just to be aiming to teach at the University level to earn 180k

That is if you know someone who knows someone in the university.

Only few persons get Jobs by GRACE.

then those M.sc holders will teach kids that will now gain admission into the university to now meet the other people who went for their P.hd as their lecturers. The kids then graduate, they are happy as they signout only to continue the virtuous circle again.

I am on the opinion of allowing our children to gain a handwork or after secondary school before even thinking of Tertiary Institution.

It's quiet unfortunate that alot of folks here keep hammering on acquiring skill after graduating not factoring in the fact that alot of today's graduate were Ill informed and majority of their parents had to break sweat so they could sponsors most of this Graduate and if you happen to be the first born, YOU ARE DEAD after NYSC and you are unable to secure a befitting placement.
How many graduate of today has financial backing or support to obtain skill? How many has connections? And even the ones that are able to navigate their way through obtaining skill without support after graduating are able to obtain tools and start up? Even the ones that are able to still meet up with all that are lamenting due to the poor economy challenges.

Now that is where it's really a scam cos there is no possibility of getting the actual course of study you applied for, I know someone that applied for nursing but was given admission to study mathematics education see the contrast

School na scam for Nigeria at the moment. Imagine after spending money and time to acquire the certificate you'll still be begging yahoo guys who didn't attend even secondary school for tips.

To you, school is a scam. Yes it will be a scam to individuals like you who passed through schools without getting educated.

In your heart of heart, will you consider yourself richly educated or you just went to school to pass time?

Cheating during WAEC, Sleeping with lecturers through schools, joining cults and threatening lecturers, cheating during exam will only lead to this unfortunate end.

If you are well educated, opportunities abound. The world is looking for problem solvers, not paper tigers.

please if endsars should start again please let them burn down the palaces of traditional rulers and the offices of Daddy GO’s and Chief Imams who have all kept quiet when injustice killings and evil took over the nation- these are the most powerful voices of the people who decided to keep quiet so evil can reign supreme

Imagine if all traditional rulers come together to denounce what INEC is doing - if they all come together to demand people oriented policies from the government- you think some improvement will not happen ? aww no they seat their fat as sesss down and dress like circus clowns conniving with evil politicians to punish their own people 😏

We are basically saying the same thing. Imagine spending millions of naira to acquire the certificate and later earning 15, 20 to 50k a month if you are even lucky to see any job. grin. Only very few are privileged to earn big money with the cert. grin

Your mates are getting jobs in Nigeria, even getting poached by foreign companies with full relocation package.

When you refused to be serious in school, the hen has come home to roost. Deal with it.

So apt

I served in a public school during my NYSC last three years and i was retained as a PTA teacher with very little pay as a 2.1 graduate, not a government teacher. The state government is currently employing teachers and i got to realise that if you don't know anyone at the top they won't consider me despite being in the system for some years, while those that just left school or not in the system would get appointment letter. Is it a crime i was born poor without having link or connection to any top person? Why must i have to know someone at the top before getting a job?

The rate at which Nigerian youths indulge in cyber fraud is quite alarming. Check your environment and you'd realised on able bodied young men roaming the streets daily with phone and short knickers. Even secondary school students are into it. They literally see anyone who doesn't belong as a fool and destined to be poor. They believe if you aren't affiliated to any politicians or came from a rich home, and you refused to do Yahoo like every other then you're bound to be poor. Two of my course mate relocated out of this country from the proceeds they got from Yahoo. Hardship in the country doesn't even help matter. Most average family cannot afford 3 square meal daily. Inflation has eaten up virtually everything. Those politicians are living large at the detriment of the masses. I don't understand how these politicians sleep at night when their subjects are dying of hunger.

Not a curse.
But Nigeria is a genocide waiting to happen.

Ever since the evil general babangida took us to the IMF/ World Slavery Bank plantation loans, with S.A.P ( structural adjustment programme/ or a means of paupering Afrikan countries), our heavy industries were the first hit, followed by social amenities, then finally the refineries.
The net result? Massive unemployment and poverty.
And in Afrika, those are the factors that generate genocide.
Nigeria is the next genocide, except there's a massive mercy from heaven.

So long.
