It is very concerning that everyone seeking a means of livelihood through certificates. The true definition of a graduate is someone who has the intelligent prowess to improve his worth through hard work. Instead of crying over job unavailability, let's think of how to make job available in our respective fields.

Everyone should try remote jobs working for USA and UK companies. The average pay is $20K per month.

Good Luck to Nigerians!

School na scam for Nigeria at the moment. Imagine after spending money and time to acquire the certificate you'll still be begging yahoo guys who didn't attend even secondary school for tips.

Check one of Israel Adesanya the formal UCF middleweight champion when he said same thing.
In America at the moment some states has started adopting some policies of not necessarily having formal education to work in some government agencies.
Last last school na scam.

for example political science and public administration with even mass communication,
We have a whole lot of useless course in Nigeria.

So apt

I served in a public school during my NYSC last three years and i was retained as a PTA teacher with very little pay as a 2.1 graduate, not a government teacher. The state government is currently employing teachers and i got to realise that if you don't know anyone at the top they won't consider me despite being in the system for some years, while those that just left school or not in the system would get appointment letter. Is it a crime i was born poor without having link or connection to any top person? Why must i have to know someone at the top before getting a job?

The rate at which Nigerian youths indulge in cyber fraud is quite alarming. Check your environment and you'd realised on able bodied young men roaming the streets daily with phone and short knickers. Even secondary school students are into it. They literally see anyone who doesn't belong as a fool and destined to be poor. They believe if you aren't affiliated to any politicians or came from a rich home, and you refused to do Yahoo like every other then you're bound to be poor. Two of my course mate relocated out of this country from the proceeds they got from Yahoo. Hardship in the country doesn't even help matter. Most average family cannot afford 3 square meal daily. Inflation has eaten up virtually everything. Those politicians are living large at the detriment of the masses. I don't understand how these politicians sleep at night when their subjects are dying of hunger.
So sorry to hear about that brother...
Abnormality is now the Modern Norm in Nigeria...
Sigh... You nailed it brother

Alot of this folks already asked me to either fall in line and learn this or better still die of poverty... And they have refused to support you as well because you don't expect them to help you from the same proceed you've vowed never to indulge in... What they will tell you is YOU NEVER READY... You either Join them or You Perish

It's ironical that when you take a significant number of this Yahoo guys away from the economy, alot of Businesses will further crumble... So I believe the power that be are in indirectly in support of them...

The only two jobs that are lucrative now are just medicine and pharmacy. Infact the proliferation of pharmacist now is making it less lucrative like before. Medicine is lucrative because God keeps making doctors die and give ways for young ones to take over. Law is no longer lucrative oh, imagine the way I was bargaining with a lawyer last week, himself is unemployed. As for Ict/computer science/ Programmers/I.T skills, they are unemployed, eating from hand to mouth..all those coming to nairaland to brag they are freelancer and earn in dollars are liars, which white person trust to do freelancer business with Nigeria again? Only few I.T companies are able to pay workers. Most ritualists now for they are freelancers with programmer...OGA tell us the real source of your wealth!

Know this & know whats up:
Degree -- level 8-9
Colleges/Diploma--level 6-7
Vocational/Handwork--level 0-5
It sounds very funny, downgrading grads to (Vocational/Handwork level 0-5) if not for the situation of the economy caused by bad, wicked & selfish leaders. How many politicians kidz have u seen; learning handwork after final yr project/service; even if they do, the trade skill/biz would be like a back up, other stream asides the main job.

I don't blame the person at all. This is Nigeria where you must have a very strong connection to get job and those that had been working since 1980 refused to retire from work up till now. Falsifying their age. Depression, anxiety and frustration is almost killing most of the graduates spending 7 years at home or managing in private sector with low pay after NYSC. There will be crisis in Nigeria very soon something similar to ENDSARS. It may be termed (let the poor breathe). Even if they want the youths to start their own business why not provide them with grants or soft loans. We all want to become successful in life and all of us are special.
