I look forward to a loop-sided game on Thursday. Unfortunately, no quality tests prior to AFCON. How we get to pick players based on how they perform against minnows.
That's very thoughtful of you bro... Its worrisome.

Elder Kog, this guy below is a French defender and he is supposed to be 16 years old. From reports, he plays with experience that exceeds his age. And one man here go come here dey shout automatic data capture.

How many times have Nigerian players and African players been caught for age cheating ❓

Age cheating is a national and continental culture, because there is no automatic birth data capture. So you rely entirely on the integrity of the individual.

We are in a country with no INTEGRITY at the highest levels 🎚️. That's essentially stupidity.

We have kangaroo 🦘 court that ratified a criminal convict, certificate forgerer, money laundering, lD Thief who cannot remember the primary and secondary school he attended and nobody knows his age, as President of Nigeria 🇳🇬.

Early this year I was in Lagos at a U14 international football ⚽ tournament PSG was in that tournament. The PSG back three defenders were all over 6ft and built like boxers. They were all born in Paris and of Senegalese and Mali descent one of the tallest tribes in Africa 🌍.

We created the widespread reckless age cheating and that means precedent. Thankfully that has been reduced dramatically by MRI scans to a reasonable level.

Amas Obasogie should be encouraged cuz I remembered Lattef Yusuf of shooting stars in the 80s who still held most clean sheets record in NPFL was not given chance despite better than Alloy Agu.I only rated Rufai better than him.

Apart from Amas,we have Osayi Kingdom of Doma United with 5 clean sheets,Christian Nwoke of Sporting Lagos and Kayode Bankole of Remo Star, these guys are better than Uzoho.

This is where I really want the nff to act but unfortunately they don't care

They need call Pasiero to order and force him try other options in goal post. We can't continue like this that coach is a duns

With your experience are these allegations baseless and without substance or you want to do a JAGABAN and deny the obvious truth.

I'm going to find some pictures of the PSG backline U14 , I took on my phone 🤳🏿 they are all over 6ft born in Paris ( automatic birth data capture) and from the Dinka tribe in Senegal and Mali.

Go and look at a 16 year old Jude Bellingham when he played a whole season in the Championship for Birmingham.

Look at 16 year old Nwaneri who at 15 played for Arsenal there is another striker in Arsenal he is U15 but 6"3.

I disagree. I'll rather we stick to coaches making sole decisions with respect to the team than opening the door to NFF interference no matter how justifiable the reason is. No player should be forced on the coach. If they can do it now because it panders to our sentiments, then they can do it later when it suits their selfish interests.

As disgusted as I am about the Super Eagle's goalkeeping situation, I won't advocate for NFF interference even if it is for the better. We are gradually getting to the point where coaches have some sense of autonomy in deciding who makes their team, we should do everything to ensure we don't turn the tide. What the NFF can do is sack him if he doesn't meet the KPI's set for him and hire a new coach who should be left to make his own decisions.

Very true baba, but in this case it is eerily glaring dat this Jpajero of a coach will cause another heartaches for many Nigerians if he stuck with Uzohorror, so if you are a member of nff, what will you do taken into consideration that to every “law” there’s an exception!

He has KPI's; qualify for the world cup and Semi-Final of AFCON. That's what his contract says. Until he falls short of any he his well within his right to steer the team as he deems fit. The only thing the NFF can do his sack him. Look at the England team for instance, most fans prefer Tomori over Maguire, but Athe coach has his preference and it has to be respected. Any intervention no matter how noble that involves interfering with the coach's decision is a No No.

Good morning team.

I hate to do what I am about to do, but it is the right thing.

I wrote and acknowledged being part of the nomination committee for the Nairaland Awards. However, after much consideration, I have decided to pull out. This is not my wish, and I wish I could accept the task. However, I have to remain true to myself, and to the people here, who I respect and cherish a lot.

I suspected I would make the list because many know my passionate love and support for the Super Eagles. However, in recent periods, I have not been that passionate, due to many things going on in the glass house and the running of our football. I have slowly lost the zeal to support the team, and I hardly even watch games.

The Super Eagles used to be a priority, but I have lost faith, and I have not followed the team this year.

With that, I apologize to all those who voted for me and to the many who have kept this thread alive. Please, even though it might seem wrong, it is the right thing to do. The committee should have been made up of passionate followers of the Super Eagles in the last calendar year, and I am not.

I will work on rekindling my passion for the team, and I hope whoever replaces me does a fantastic job.

Thank you.

Gentlemen,ladies, good evening.
Given that there is still one more international window left before the end of the year, it's only right to begin the process of voting after it. However, other activities have to commence before the real voting.
I believe that many of us here have one or two things we are doing that keeps us busy at times, so there will be no hurry. We will take our time to do it well..
The calendar of events are as follow:

November 3- November 8 : Voting of members od the nomination committee
November 8- November 11: Validation of election into the nomination committee
November 12- November 16: Selection of award categories by nomination committee
November 20- November 25: Selection of players for each award category by nomination committee
November 27 - December 4: Voting of winners by all Nairlanders
December 8: official announcement of winners

CC: icon4s semid4lyfe

Good afternoon everyone. I appreciate you all for your time and patience so far, and apologies for not being able to meet up with the deadlines listed in the calendar.
So, based on responses received so far, here are the members of the nomination committee for the 2023 Nairaland Nigeria Football Fans Award:
1. Danielnino00
2. Icon4s
3. Thesupernerd
4. Charlesemeka85
5. Joebie
6. Andsungorilla

Given that the super eagles have a game tomorrow and next week, I think it's only right to wait until afterwards before we begin. The super falcons also have a game coming up toward the end of this month and early December, but the super falcons only have one category for the award, so we cant wait till then. However, if members of the committee wish to make modification to the categories, we can find a way around it.

In lieu of this, here is the new calendar:
November 22- November 27 2023- Selection of award categories by nomination committee
November 27- December 2nd 2023- Selection of players for each award category by nomination committee
December 4th - December 11th 2023- Official Voting of winners by all Nairalanders
December 15th 2023- Official announcement of winners

Thank you all

Bassey is not good at LB but a lot better at CB.

Collins is retrogression he has nothing to offer to take us forward.

Hahaha hahaha. I read this and I couldn't help laughing because I've struggled for years with a dwindling passion for football which I love so much. But remember: They say form is temporary but class is permanent. Well let me recoin that statement thus: passion is temporary but commitment is permanent.

Bro, I'm not as passionate a Super Eagles fan as I was years ago but nevertheless I still feel bound to the team and the glue that binds me to the team is stronger than the ebb and flow of my passion.

So regardless of the measure of your passion, the green blood flows in your vein. Your many years of passionate commitment and enthusiastic support provides enough credit sufficient to compensate for the temporary deficit in the strength of your passion.

Get on that committee Bro. The flames may be snuffed out temporarily but the promise of it spouting aflame again remains, so long as the coals carry fire. The coal is in your heart. It will burst into flame again.

no be only you bro, I don’t feel a thing for my beloved super eagles anymore even to the extend that I don’t remember match days anymore

I was once a die hard super eagles fan to an extend that anytime the team lose a game I hardly eat and my whole day will be ruined

Those at the helm of affairs of our football don dwindle my interest a long time ago which even got worst after the appointment of Jose Peseiro as the coach of the senior team

My only joy with regards to our football is out players doing well in various European leagues which I still follow them religiously aside that I see the super eagles currently as any other national team during match days
