Is anyone here going to Torrens or has applied to Torrens? I have submitted my documents for about three weeks yet to get a response from the school.

I doubt if that will be enough. Average tuition deposit is at AUD15,000 for most level 2 university.

In naira it's close to 12million naira according to exchange rate today. Bear in mind, it's only tuition deposit. You'll need proof of funds and other logistics.

You may need to hustle more or try some other countries

Good evening all.I have a dilemma that requires input from experienced persons here.I am in the process of relocating to Australia with my husband and 4 year old daughter to study masters in social work.

The first agent i spoke to said its better i go alone and leave my husband and daughter behind,to come join me 6 months after i arrive ny His grace. We later met another agent that assured us of high chances of getting visa approvals for all three of us.

Another agent advised i leave my husband behind and go with my toddler. My confusion is this,is it actually risky for us all to apply as a family? What course of action is advisable to boost my chances of a visa approval.Pls drop your inputs.

Good morning all, I am in the process of applying for my student visa and will like to know if I should type in the GTE Personal Statement or to attach and refer them to attachment. If I should refer them to attachment, do I need to stick to the word count?

Thank you.

hi favour i will be honest with you coming with your daughter is not a good idea i'l tell you why you will be going to school as well as running around where will the child be when you are doing all this, unless you have the funds for childcare which is expensive i will advice the child stays with the dad and come meet with you whenever you are ready or you three can try but what i am hammering at this point is please do not come alone with the baby unless you have the money to cater for the bills.
my two cents cheers

Thanks so much for this advise, just that the father is a sailor and does'nt stay home for months. That leaves us with the option of either going as a family or going with my daughter and paying for daycare. My main issue however is this; Will three of us applying for the study visa lead to a denial by the embassy?I am asking because of advice from agent against it, probably in a bid to show home ties.

In this situation, having a good agent is really important. N8,000,000 should be okay, but you need a strong case for your visa application. I suggest applying to less expensive schools and spending more time getting your visa application ready.

Good luck in your application

Based on my experience with Torrent, if your profile or application is strong, they won't hesitate to get in touch with you. However, it's worth noting that the processing of applications by most Australian Universities/Colleges tends to take a considerable amount of time.

8million naira might just take care of initial deposit alone, you have other cost to take care of and most especially POF, that's where the bulk finances comes to play.

How much will you consider for POF?

Please, don't make the mistake of relocating to Australia with your daughter. You may not be able to cope with the stress associated with your studies, work and child care.

Don't you have someone that can take care of your daughter while you are away and your husband is at work? Like your mother or your mother inlaw.

I for one is not a fan of the entire family relocating at once. it's unwise to test the depth of a river with both legs.

I suggest you discuss with your huby. Let him understand why you have to go while they join latter.
Remember, not many men will allow their wives to migrate alone for such a long distance and time. Make him understand it is for the good of the family.

Again, the idea of your family joining you after 6 months may not be feasible. You have to look at upwards of 1year.

In my own case, my wife travelled in Dec. 2021. I had to stay back to take care of my kids. She fully settled in after one year and asked us to commence the process of moving in.

Depends on the school, and yu know xchange rate is high now
If it's to accept your offer, 30 million and above but of its for visa, depends on the school whether it is level one of two

Hi Favour i am not home affairs or an Australian immigration officer either but then again i understand the angle the agent is coming from which makes the job easier for them thus gives you a high chance of visa approval because of home ties but best believe it isn't easy coming here with a toddler, three of you applying for a visa does not mean you'll are going to be denied if the agent cannot handle applying for the three of you find another good agent apply and pray simple.

And I need further advice on it pls.
We planned going together, but I think she'll go first inorder not to ruin vis@ approv@l.

and what are the lists of these colleges for one year diploma please?

AKASBABA1:

Absolutely, applying for a one-year diploma in Australia is feasible for HND holders. However, when it comes to obtaining a student visa, the study history should be convincing. Going from an HND to a diploma might not sound as convincing to the immigration authorities. For English proficiency tests, both PTE and IELTS are widely accepted and serve the same purpose by assessing language skills.

Regarding alternative academic routes, considering a Graduate Certificate or Diploma might be beneficial. In many cases, these studies are less expensive compared to a full Masters degree while still offering a solid academic foundation.

Most universities in Australia offer diploma programs that typically span one year. Similarly, many TAFE institutions also provide diploma programs, with the majority extending to a duration of two years. The list is extensive, so for specific details, it's recommended to search on Google based on your preferences and requirements.
