sonmvayina:my bro I really don't understand these guys. the same Romans that tried to wipe out christianity and killed Jesus all of a sudden fall in love with christiandom and held the 2 creeds. you should have even gone further to explain that after those creeds possessing the bible was banned/illegal and the early christain gnostics who did not subscribe to the nicene creed were killed and their bibles/scriptures burnt.... the worse part is the pentecostals. those one even follow the same bible compiled & authorised by thr Romans or the English monarchy... ask them what about the secret teachings of Jesus after he resurrected? how come that's not in their KJV? many of them even belive Jesus resurrected just to show face and japa, they are not even smart enough to think that Jesus would have told them everything about the afterlife etc... |

43Ronin:Fat lie from the pit of hell! No clergy will incense a statue. The Word of God (the Bible) before it is read can be incensed! The Paschal Candle which represent Jesus Christ the Light of the world can be incensed! The Congregation can be incensed! The Eucharist even on procession can be incensed! I have never seen, anywhere where Catholics do libations to statues. If you have proof please show me. Y'all will seat where you are and be saying what you don't know. On Christ the feast day you will boldly see a priest or the Bishop carrying the Eucharist as they walk pass your street and that is when healings takes place. On that day you will see it boldly that the Eucharist will be incensed all through. The Statue of Holy people you whose procession you see are what they are. Catholics, right from the time of the Apostles has never said the saints or holy people are Gods even when some of them till this day has enjoyed divine approval from God. Some has died for decades going to centuries their bodies has not decompose. The Church teaches that there are three types of honor that are due to those who are holy: 1) Dulia. This is the honor and recognition which we accord to the saints. Perhaps they died as martyrs rather than deny God; or they worked great miracles, since their friendship with God meant that He granted their prayers for healing or restoration; or they simply, as Therese of Lisieux, lived holiness in their own “little way.” 2) Hyperdulia. This is, to put it simply, lots and lots of dulia. This is the very special honor we accord to Mary, the Mother of God. 3) Latria. This is true worship, and is given only to God. St. Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church, writing in his Summa Theologiae (II-II, q. 103, a. 4; III, q. 25, a. 5), explained: “In more technical terms used by the Tradition to draw this important distinction, devotion to Mary belongs to the veneration of dulia, or the homage and honor owed to the saints, both angelic and human in heaven, and not to latria, or the adoration and worship that can be given only to the Triune God and the Son incarnate. Because of her unique relationship to Christ in salvation history, however, the special degree of devotion due to Mary has traditionally been called hyperdulia. While latria is owed to her Son by reason of unity of his divine and human natures in the Person of the Word made flesh, hyperdulia is due to Mary as truly his Mother.” One of Catholicism’s most frequently uttered prayers is the Hail Mary. But is this idolatry? No. It’s Scripture. Enough of this very unnecessary argument! Leave the Catholic Church alone and focus on your the spirit told me. We are Catholics close to two thousand years ago and we will be catholics forever. The Catholic Church makes up 65% of Christians in the world. Show me a place where Catholics do libations or offer special sacrifices to these images or rest it. |

Felimax:pardon me, it was actually christ the king feast you mentioned an incense was being offered to the communion, but where exactly did Jesus say that the bread and wine should literally be worshipped Jesus himself never claimed to be God, and the bread and wine meaning his flesh and blood is symbolic not literal. pls don't tell me you actually believed Jesus said we should cannibalise him when he said eat my flesh and drink my blood Do you even know what his flesh and blood symbolically means? Also, is novena not prayers being offered up to Jesus through Mary or any of the saints, do you want me to post novena prayers to saints here? are you supposed to direct your prayers to d saints or to Jesus? doesn't the bible categorically states in 1 Timothy 2 vs 5 that God is one, and that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man? doesn't Jesus christ also state that he's the way, truth & life and no one gets to the father except thru him?(john 14 vs 6). Where's the concept gotten from that heaven operates like earth where you have bureaucracy and favoritism & that the saints or Mary have to intercede for you tru your prayers to them so that Jesus can also intercede for you becos Gods payer requests are too much to handle Didn't Jesus himself caution about making irrelevant things more important than the word of God In Luke 11,27-28 and cautioned peter about erecting images(terbanacle) during the transfiguration? |

43Ronin:Jesus never claimed to be God? Are you for real? Please sir, are you a christian or not? I don't discuss with Muslims, as well as Atheist. So please tell me where you belong first before i know what to do. I will not engage you in all of that. The catholic church base their teachings from the Word (The Sacred Scriptures) and the traditions laid down by the Apostles. 90% of your concerns up there are the very elementaries of what an everyday chirstian should know so if at this stage you are still very far from understanding then i will suggest you look for a bible believing church where they help brush you up on the mystreies of the Kingdom. For me, i am not a preacher and i will not be. Bro, please don't mention me again. Jesus never claimed to be God? If you don't believe Jesus is God then why are you still reading the Bible? Are you demonic? Please sir, I beg you in God's name don't mention me again. Thanks for your co-operation and understanding! I really appreciate. The moment you say Jesus never claimed to be God i knew you are not alone. There are things speaking through you. |

Felimax:Ok no problem. my advice to you is this. Ask and you shall receive, seek & you shall find, knock & d door shall be open to you. When you ask God the right questions he will enlighten you and direct you to knowledge(holy spirit). when you get the knowledge you will understand all. You are just religious, you are not christain yet. shalom! |

43Ronin:It is not your place to determine if I just religious or not. In Christianity there are those who believe in Christ and follows Him, this people are saved. There are those who don't believe but yet still follows Him. I know where I belong because I have been moved into light where virtually all my questions were answered. You are too filthy to tell me what to ask God. He has provided everything I needed to know and has brought me salvation through grace. Jesus is God! |

Felimax:ok, so Jesus is God and he prayed to himself in gethaemane? he also prayed to himself on the cross to forgive his killers? he also committed his spirit unto himself before he passed away on the cross? he also told his followers not to call him good master(like you stubborn catholics still do to this day when you say O our Good Jesus forgive us..... because only him(God is master). He is God and Stephen saw a vision of him sitting and the right-hand-side of himself? then during his baptism he spoke to the people saying this is me(or my son) with whom I am well pleased? during the transfiguration he also cautioned peter saying this is me(or my son) listen to him Timothy even says God is ONE and there's a mediator between God & man who is Jesus. John even says God loved the world that he sent his only begotten SON John also says in revelation that God exalted Jesus name above every other name? you are so bathed in religion that you even sound stupid. don't quote me again you are not even on my level. |

I witnessed one such procession in Auchi, I was with my Muslim friends and they all screamed when they saw the procession. incense was being burned and being offered to the statue, if that's not worship then what is?
