The quote "A Teacher reward is in heaven"is a punchline for you to get exploited by capitalism the more.

In all humility, who the Bleep told you all teachers will make heaven if there's in fact one

If you're in your 20s, deep down you know you can't amount to anything with that job in this country.

Take risk, do that fraud, the times where decency in how you earn might get you something or somewhere great is gone.

Critically look at the options to make money legally in this country and compare it to the population, then you'll realise that everyone cannot succeed legally.

So that your friend that did fraud but you did not join him or her because you thought there's something better somewhere, better swallow your pride and go back to him or her if they're still in the country anyway and like you enough to forgive and teach you.

The concept of right or wrong is relative to the circumstances in your environment, everyone won't have first class or second class upper, so what should others do, kill themselves

Do what you have to do then go legit, a time might come in this country or the world where only those that have money would be afforded rights

Most people that did fraud(yahoo yahoo) and other affiliated schemes would go on to live a very fulfilled life, don't be shocked when their kids or they themselves employ you, the hardworking citizens. E.g your politicians.

Get off your moral horse or moral high ground and observe the times you're in then act accordingly because times have changed.

I worked as a teacher for almost 2 years. Despite working under a kind boss, you can't just help that feeling like you're just wasting away and you can't really amount to anything sensible with your salary.
Started with 12k then rose to 18k within the 2 years period.
I'm proud of those days I spent as a teacher and whatever positive impact I might have left for the teens I taught.
Being a teacher especially in a private school is a selfless service.

This OP is just a Clout and Lazy man and you know anything said on a Social Media, especially in Nigeria- the gaulibles audiences will feed on it!
The question is- how many Schools have you established to contribute to the Nigeria development?
Yet,it's easy to criticize the Teaching Profession, especially the Private Schools!
-Where is the government support,if I may ask or don't you know that the Private Sector needs Financial support, even Start-Up, to reduce Financial burden in the industry?
-Where do you have a government with a Clean bill of health or Perfect States, including Federal Govt Schools - but they cooked up the Budgets and tells you Story - that is what many Nigerians, especially the Youths likes!

It is not only teacher that are underpaid. Many professionals and well skilled people in Nigeria are also underpaid. If you know you're not getting what you want in life change career but don't do fraud, robbery, engage in sharp practices etc in the name of I want a better life.

Seeking a better life is important, but resorting to illegal activities like fraud or robbery, etc as promoted by that dimwits is not the solution. Everything is not about money but fulfilment. It's crucial to explore legitimate avenues, such as changing careers or add other sources of income. Add farming, poultry, or learn programming. Don't because you're underpaid by some greedy and self centered school proprietors now decide to engaged in illegal things.

Teaching pays you just haven’t built yourself to earn the pay you seek

Majority of those complaining about teaching jobs are those with maybe Bsc.Edu , Maybe Msc Edu or maybe those who accidentally find themselves in teaching profession after toiling for jobs in their area of specialties but couldn’t find.

Just like in every discipline, you keep building and gathering the necessary qualifications if you have any desire of getting to the top.

I didn’t do education related course but found myself teaching in one very big school in Lagos. Mind you I have just HND with no other qualifications but after searching for job in my field (computer science) I couldn’t find any then I applied in the second as their IT instructor with promise of bringing in my tech knowledge. We were much that came for the same position but me the least qualified was picked after a rigorous interview process.

In the school I discovered that teaching pays because the school mandated all staffs to take several certification courses in education which many teachers took and even went extra miles to get certificates not mentioned by the school (IGCSE, Cambridge, SAT etc) while some others felt relaxed (like me)

Fast forward to two years many teachers secured jobs in very big schools in the country. When I say big school I am talking about paycheck from 500k per month and above while they had access to kids from men at the top of the ladder in Nigeria where they could charge 20k per hour for private lessons.

Some even had teaching jobs abroad while many rejected offers to teach abroad because they get well paid as teachers here.

Govt has to do more to enhance welfare of teachers generally in the country but teachers too should up their skills and make them attractive to foreign and local big schools.

Back to my case, my school was big and very good but I had no passion for teaching so I resigned after saving enough to venture into business which I have always wanted but the skills, experience, training and exposures I had from the school helps me today in business and I am now a vendor to them (business partner.

My certificate remains hnd, I didn’t bother to add to it because I didn’t have intention of chasing teaching lines

If you want to get poor, embrace teaching.

Teaching cannot make you rich.

Forget about the passion or joy of teaching that's a fallacy...As a teacher, you're unable to eat three square meals, go on outings, buy latest wears and gadgets, how are you gonna be happy?
Re: Teaching Is The Worst Job In Nigeria by adonaimart(m): 8:50am On Nov 26, 2023
It’s a big lie..

Teaching is online now.

You can monetize your teaching knowledge into a masterclass and sell in dollars.

If you think teaching is done only in a classroom, hunger will hammer you.

Please research more; it’s very lucrative oo

No please. There are teachers and there are teachers.

Teachers will earn according to how they position themselves. Upgrade yourself so you don't become obsolete. Some of us earn 6 figures every month. And there's time for you to do side hustles where you can earn more than your salary even. 60 percent of my colleagues come to work in their own rides.

Very soon, parents will end up teaching their kids at home by themselves because the well educated teachers are leaving the profession.

Why? Poor Renumeration. It's only in Nigeria that Secondary School teachers are paid N30K per month.

How do u want someone to survive on such a salary. School Owners will be paying such salary and be thinking they are doing you a favour.

I started teaching in 2009 with SSCE. I actually love teaching. Teaching is my calling. I started doing Students Broadsheet when I was just 8yrs old. I went to the University and bagged a B.Sc in Geography and Planning.

I was teaching Geography in a Private Secondary School in Lagos. Woke up one morning and said goodbye to teaching in Nigeria.

Teachers are not paid well. They are not treated well. School Owners use teachers anyhow. I used to teach the whole school. I taught Jss1 to JSS3 Agricultural Science and SS1 to SS3 Geography. You will write lesson note for all the classes and be tired. You will enter class and copy note on the blackboard till your whole hands pain you. You will shout on top of ur voice teaching till u have headache. Principal will still shout on you in presence on students. I suffered. All on top of rubbish salary wey no reach N25K.

People say "Teaching Is A Calling". I laugh grin

Becos it is calling that will pay the bills abi? angry

Even children now do not want to end up as teachers. Even u reading this would not want ur child to end up as a teacher in Nigeria.

Now am not talking about Government school teachers o. Atleast those ones still dey see money.

Some Private school teachers earn as low as 20K per month in Nigeria. Graduates o. In this Buhari-Tinubu Guinness World Record Regime.

My neighbor now is complaining cos her child keeps failing JAMB. She can't pass Chemistry. Why? The school changes teachers every session which is affecting her. The last one did not teach some chemistry topics to the students which came out in JAMB this year.

Mama dey vex. She dey blame the Teacher. I told her to calm down. I asked her does she know how much the school pays the Chemistry Teacher? She said No. I laughed.

You can never be motivated to do ur best when u are not well paid. I told her to hold the School responsible for her daughter's downfall not the teacher.

Teaching is one of the hardest professions in the world because we are the Mother of all professions.

I'm just looking for money now to do my International Passport. Once I get it by God's grace, I don leave Nigeria for una.

I'm currently teaching Geography SS1-SS3, Computer and data processing Js1-Ss3. And you're expected to write and submit lesson notes, explain, give assignments and mark their notes, set exam questions and mark and record their scores.
Teaching is hard and so complicated with nothing to show for it.
