Cos the guy keeps his head on a swivel and constantly scans, so he knows where the people around him (both teammates and opponents) are at most times. Then the few things he gets surprised in possession he is confident of his touch, passing, and dribbling to escape from danger. This differentiates him from McFred for instance, where neither Fred nor McTominay had the touch to be caught in such positions, hence their shaky-shaky daddy performances in 1st phase situations.

There will be ups and down as he still has a lot to learn especially defensively, but the potential is there. I have always known this.

Yes, I know it's preseason but we wey don dey follow am from academy know what he's capable of right now as well as what he can be.

I don't think he's the kind of player that will have off field issues because of his personality but you never can tell. That's why the club, both admin and coaches, need to rally round and protect him. Him and Garnacho.

For me it had to be that Pavard's screamer against Argentina, what a goal, or at least Ronaldo's overhead kick, but who am I to argue with the experts who decided.

Because of his small size and lack of pace my fingers are crossed on him. He is no where ready for 2-3 years anyways.

There are a few other decent ones but no obvious standout.

Greenwood won the best academy player of the year, scoring about 40 goals or so. Mainoo was last year’s best academy player. We are anxious to see him play.

I like how ETH didn’t put him in the first team after his return from injury. Mainoo played several youth games for club and country before yesterday’s game.

I think Mainoo will be benched against Galatasaray and then start against Newcastle. I expect Amrabat to come in against Gala. If the senior players can't do a job in Istanbul because an 18-year-old is not playing, then they are on their own.
