Relationship existed between the North and SW before colonisation. Sango's mother came from Nupe. Yoruba's also captured Fulani's too in the war that later got assimilated.

When people hate on each other tribes I just smile. Some don't know their forefathers came from the tribe they hate grin

Like nature, history is not neat and tidy as some naively like to suggest.

Once we begin to peel away layers, we are bound to find that are our pre-existing prejudices are challenged while newly formed ones gain traction grin

Thanks for issuing another important reminder.

Oríkì is a Yoruba cultural phenomenon that comes in the form of praise poetry, praising either a person, òrìṣà (deity), or town based on their achievements. Ogun worshippers are known to sing Ogun's oríkì and this specific part insinuates that Ògún is in seven paths.

Ògún méje logun mi,
Ògún alára ni n gb’aja,
Ògún onire a gb’àgbò,
Ògún Ikọla a gb'agbín,
Ògún gbengbena oje ìgí nìí mu,
Ògún ila a gb’esun iṣu,
Ògún akirin a gb’awo agbo,
Ògún elémono ẹran ahùn ni jẹ,
mákindé ti dogun lẹyin odi,
Bi o ba gba Tapa a gb’Aboki,
A gba Ukuuku a gba Kèmbèrí.

Translation:

My Ògún manifest in seven different ways
Ogun of the town of Ilara accepts a dog atonement
Ogun of the town of Ire accepts a ram atonement
Ogun of the town of Ikole accepts a snail atonement
Ogun of Gbenagena drinks tree sap for atonement
Ogun of the town of Ila accept yam seeds atonement
Ogun of the Akirin people accepts ram fur atonement
Ogun of the Elemono people eats tortoise meat for atonement
The brave that wages foreign wars
He will consume either Nupe, or Hausa
He consumes foreign people, He will consume the Kanuri too.

Bini not only founded Lagos , they also founded Ile-Ife

Awori people are from Bini
Oduduwa was from Bini

Without Bini , yoruba history is nothing

Lobatan

Even White people are originally from Benin.

There's not a single history that backs your claim that Awori are from Bini

But I trust the Bini to cook up a history sooner rather than later to that effect like they did the Oduduwa thing.

Oba of bini said his ancestors probably found "some part" according to history, he didn't say they own it now. He didn't even mention the name of location he think they found in Lagos.

He is just trying to fams yoruba since ipob is already claiming his land, Oba of bini is of yoruba decent.

Igbos as you said are not claiming it by inheritance but buying it over...just say it as it is...am neutral here.

The highlighted part of Ogun's Oriki is another proof that our path crossed in the past.

Thank you 🙏

The benin man really fcukkd up, it was supposed to be a very positive, inspiring and friendly visit, but he rubbished his own visit with his ignorant, crude, tactless and thoughtless comment, he basically joined the rif rafs and gutter elements like the Igbos and their ignorant and unintelligent comments about Lagos state.

He really didn't have to join that inglorious bandwagon, he diminished himself and rubbished his position with that comment especially right in front of his gracious host, which was so insulting, degrading and rewriting your host's history in his face.

In fact, how do you find or discover an occupied environment with an established culture, language, and way of life?

The Oba of Lagos literally said it that Aworis are from Bini

The oba of Lagos said his family is from Bini not Awori.

Oba met Awori in Lagos island.

Buying? Do you know all land you think you bought was actually leased? I know you too broke to have a single feet of land, so I wasn't surprised about such ignorance.

No one is buying land in lagos, C of O is certificate of occupancy and not certificate of ownership.

All lands belong to the aboriginals.

Meanwhile, the Balogun of Eko Abisoye Oyeyemi Oshodi said his lineage is Nupe.

Does it mean there are indigenous Nupe people in Lagos?

There are indigenous Benin people in Lagos?

There are indigenous Braziliana in Lagos too?

There are indigenous Yorubas in Lagos!

Immigrant Settlers.

He said in the video that his forefathers were settlers. Maybe you should actually watch the video you posted.

Lol Nupe slave?

Oh so you don't know that know that just like Benin wandered into Yoruba land in precolonial times, the Nupe our neighbors to the north did the same and vice versa.

There are towns in Oyo State settled by Nupe known by Yorubas as Tapa.

Learn history.
Alaafin Sango mother was also a Nupe woman.

I doubt he said that. The idejos (land owners) of Lagos are Awori.

The idejos are Aworis and descendants of Olofin Ogunrumimire (an ife prince).

Lol na dis kind news dey make una dick rise. Because you couldn't explain how Lagos is Igbo land you want to support the Bini so that you can legitimise your "no man's land" rhetorics.

At the end of the day, all these talks will only make the Yorubas to be less accommodating and more politically conscious in Lagos. You accuse Yorubas of tribalism in the last election? Just wait for the 2027 election with the way things are going.
