However, I don’t still understand what benefits the people who are claiming ownership of Lagos deriving from the ownership. I mean in the past 10 years for instance, what value has the binis gotten from ownership of Lagos if we assume they indeed own Lagos ?

Can’t we just be serious in this country by trying to find solutions to our life challenges. I want to believe we have more than enough of such challenges as a people. The Oba of Benin really messed up. He knows nothing about history. We know that the old Bini empire was very powerful but not to the extent of founding Lagos. If the Bini People founded Lagos, so how come the Edo language is not spoken in Lagos like Yoruba and Egun? One thing about this our generation is that we lack reasoning and we call ourselves educated people. Social media has made many to lost their thinking. Oba of Benin goofed big time. He never learned history from his father. This is one of the reasons I fault the removal of history from secondary and primary curriculum.

perhaps you might not have the full doctrine about migration, but few people who migrated due to occupation and slave trade some 200 years ago might have settled down in Lagos due to its trade proximity and the availability of ports which brought in Portuguese and European slave traders and merchants. If you have no knowledge of history perhaps ask your father or grandfather who have longer days than you. Today no one can remember when slave traders use to exchange mirror for a full fledged human from the Europeans because the Europeans wants people who will work and entertain as slaves for them while being bounded by chains around their necks, legs and hands.
