Janine Van Wyk makes history as she becomes the most capped African player (men and women). She surpasses Ahmed Hassan (Egypt). She is subbed out of the WAFCON 2024 Qualifying 2nd Round 2nd leg after 7 minutes to end a great internacional career.

They draw their first Leg (1-1)…

Burkina Faso isn’t that Bad though, they played low block which they didn’t execute the counter game upfront that would have helped them…

Their striker upfront also missed a 1-v-1 chance that could have given them the league, in all South Africa experience paid out..

She was in Israel for two seasons before going to Belgium..

Alaba Jonathan is based in Belgium 🇧🇪 playing for a Div2 Clubside RWDM Girls for over 1year now…

I suspect she’s Playing and Working another job too…

She is a good goalkeeper. I would have preferred her to Oluehi though but I blame Dennerby for ignoring her.

Alaba Jonathan is a very good goalkeeper but it would be better having them all instead of one over the other… but Under Thomas Dennerby, Alaba Jonathan was 3rd choice behind Oluehi and Nnadozie..

It was at the 2019 World Cup that Tochukwu Oluehi lost her spot to Nnadozie…!

Oluehi was better

Draw VS Ethiopia cost us a lot points
The CAF and Olympic Qualifying don't help won't get much points really need to qualify for the Olympics and get big points like in the world cup to get in the early 20s…. Falcons going down on the Ranking as it stands.

Anyway let’s wait for the official Rankings first..

At least we are still in the 30's. If we can be convincing against Cameroon and play some top profile friendlies, we can easily get to the 20's

From what I see, it seems Cameroon and Morocco have both fallen behind and Ghana is now 3rd. I believe Zambia should be 3rd, Ghana 4th, and Morocco 5th.

Congrats JOE!!
What a way to wrap up her college career and how befitting for her to score the final goal of an absolutely fantastic campaign by FSU.
Not only that, but also finishing as FSU top scorer and on the short list for NCAA player of the season.

I cannot imagine how high her stock has risen due to this.
She may seriously need to rethink her pre-contract with Juventus Torino, because I definitely see several bigger European clubs coming after her, not to mention the NWSL here in the US.

Not sure what the incentive is to go to Italy, would have preferred a team in Spain, France or the WSL. Doesn't have to be top teams like Barcelona or Madrid, but a good enough team where she'll get playing time and improve herself. Conflicted about the NWSL, they aren't always nice to rookies. They can potentially cut players off the roster before the season starts.
