Ojuntana: As long as they have started fixing, they will eventually fix that one. The man is not happy that we want to start refining oil locally, that is the reason for fault finding. 2 Likes |

dre11: If people are not sent to jail in this country, they will never take anything serious or past MD and refinery workers should be sent to jail, why are they paying refinery workers when they cannot refine a drop of crude, if the refineries are not working the workers should be asked to go pay them off rather than be paying them salaries for yrs for doing nothing, changing MDs for a plant that's not working. Now they have called this one out of retirement to come and tell us a new date, you can see that this country is a scam. How much was he paid for this, why did he not contest it when the December date was given. 2 Likes |

What does that mean? Monies did not come in time for maintenance. Not enough money actually was given for maintenance and it was not a profitable project. So it was just declining slowly because of lack of maintenance until it crashed. This is what I've been saying about what killed our refineries. It all started with the IBB govt and its corrupt management of our national affairs. Before then, the refineries made their money and did their maintenance independent of any external approval. That govt made corruption a way of life and permeated into thy aspect of this country 2 Likes |

Sangoamadioha1:Really? He's not happy why? Can you really explain why he's not happy? Is he a fuel importer or does he have a private refinery? Someone is talking based on his experience and you're here bringing you pedestrian mindset. That's too poor 2 Likes |

He had his chance to fix it, now it's time to go enjoy his loot from Shell to maintain the status quo during his term. |

Ojuntana: You think such a man will not have a stake in importation of petrol. In Nigeria, it would be naive of you to think that a former MD of a national refinery will not have a stake in importation of petrol into the country. |

Na mumu dey expect say it will work. Those of use not expecting it's not because we don't want it not working but we understood the deception of APC led government. They only believe in lies and they are the children of lies. |

Ojuntana: First of all, NNPC took over under Buhari. Number 2, believe what you want, this is my opinion just as you have yours. Even with NNPC being the sole importer he can still be benefitting, after all he was a former MD with his boys still in the system (you wan hear story bah). |
Re: Ex-NNPC ED, Alex Ogedengbe Doubts Port Harcourt Refinery Will Work This December by SmartyPants(m): 10:43am On Dec 06, 2023 |
Sangoamadioha1: Everything is clearly spelled out in the write up. Instead of making wild speculations just read. He was MD in the early 90s. The refineries continued to work well for decades after, though, at that time, the problems were already there which, as he explains, largely come down to inefficiencies of the government, with monies meant for maintenance coming too late and in incomplete quantities. He further explains that in his time they took steps to solve this on their own by engaging in other commercial activities. Now if you have read all that and still disagree then fine. Provide your own version of the facts amd explain what rewlly happened. |

Re: Ex-NNPC ED, Alex Ogedengbe Doubts Port Harcourt Refinery Will Work This December by Sangoamadioha1: 10:55am On Dec 06, 2023 |
SmartyPants: My argument is that he is part of the problem and he is not happy petrol importation will soon stop. This is my opinion based on how i see it. Because govt is not working on the one he wants then what government is doing is rubbish. Pray, does he have monopoly of knowledge. The government, after due diligence, say this is the one we are starting with but Mr knowledgeable, who watched refineries collapse under him, says no it must be done his way or it won't work. Ps Even under Abacha we were importing fuel (if you remember the time bad fuel came into the country during Abacha's time). The refineries started their decline under Mr knowledgeable's time. 1 Like |

Sangoamadioha1:Despite all efforts to correct your zombie brain you are still adamant in your shallow thinking. The refineries did not collapse under the man you are pointing fingers at, the refineries worked under him and not a single fuel was being imported throughout his time, infact he stated that Nigeria was exporting refined products. So what exactly is your point of argument? 1 Like |

The cost of maintenance for refineries thriples d amount of subsidy to be paid. The best is to sell them to good hands in private sector. Not people like dangote ,otedola and co. |

The man just made some shocking revelations. First of all, it is clear BAT just poured $15bn down the drain. Secondly, the man has no intention to fix Nigeria. He just wants to create the appearance of trying to do so. Thirdly, the refinery won't work. Not this month. Not next month. Four, any crude oil allocated to the refinery is wasted. Only a little amount of PMS will be produced from it. The rest go into polluting the environment in PH. The little PMS produced will require addition of lead to be usable. Meanwhile, engines of today use unleaded PMS. There was a better option for repairs, but BAT chose this path! Make of this analysis, what you will. 1 Like |
