Why it is not common is surprising to me. One reason could be that sex is cheap in Nigeria. But it (sex) is expensive in the abroad, yet it is not a ubiquity. The argument is that Nigeria is a conservative country, but vibators are rife amongst women, both in the liberal pretentious south and conservative north.
