Let me give some instances from the Bible:
When the people of Israel were in Egypt, they cried (prayed) to God and He answered their prayer. But it was not just prayer that splited the red sea, it wasn't just prayer that sent plagues into the homes of their enemies, a lot of spiritual works (rituals) were involved. There are so many other instances like that.

Those things that you call "spiritual works" we're not actually "spiritual works" per ser. They were PHYSICAL works performed by instruction from God and backed up by the power of God.

How did that instruction come about? It was prayer. If Moses had not prayed, He wouldn't have known how God wanted him to operate.

I am not arguing against the importance of actions after praying. I am saying that there are different ideas and ways we can employ in solving a problem, but there is a specific method that God would have us use at a particular point in time.

This is where the place of prayer comes in; in prayer, we receive instruction not just for a solution to our problem, but that solution that will contribute significantly to God's plan for our lives.

So I will reiterate: absolutely nothing is more effective than prayer.
