People are not benefitting already from it because the transporters are yet to comply with the directive.
The government should not be blamed for this.....
Instead, the transporters should comply with the federal government's directive...
Na for only 9ja I don see where business owners no dey respect government.

can you show us the copy of the agreement the FG entered into with the said transporters that you say are not complying?

when and where was the meeting held were they entered into agreement to slash fares by 50%?

is it FG that is buying fuel for them that they will reduce fares?

Federal government workers have not receive December salaries. So only few people travelled.
Also did Tinubu reduced fuel price or he subsidise petrol to cushion the high cost of transport?
Even the palliatives have not been fully implemented.Only few people who are Tinubu s backers have received peanuts.

@me
The op asked a direct question. Give us a direct answer or forever keep shut. Stop all these lamentation and condemnation.

The federal government will pay them. They have an agreement on how they will be paid. Some Young Shall Grow teams were interviewed on a radio program in Lagos, and they confirmed it.

that is not what I asked you.

1. if they were "listed", how is that a guarantee that there is 50% reduction in transportation fares?

2. is it Tinubu that is buying fuel for them?

since you have "adequate information", kindly answer the following:

3. is there budgetary provision for this?

4. how will Tinubu pay the transporters if indeed such a thing exists?

5. Tinubu "removed" fuel subsidy and introduced this. how is this different from fuel subsidy?

Even if tinubu makes transport 100 percent free... Stupid Nigerians who are enemies of progress still won't appreciate it...
I see some stupid comments that he should reduce fuel by 50%...
Make e reduce am so that una go hoard the fuel again to sell at a high rate when things return to normal abi??
Make e use style introduce subsidy wen e don remove.....
E made train rides free... Reduced transport by 50% across selected routes... People no still agree....
What I was expecting to see is people asking for systems to check if transport companies will comply fully but no.... Even those wen no deh pay nepa bill or taxes dey complain....
I no like tinubu one day but for this one.... He has done no wrong!!!
No nation was built from ground to top with gold and silver...
Alot of advanced nations have gone and are still going through alot of things Nigerians are going through at the moment...
The difference is that, abroad... You get the value of what you work and pay for....

Note: it was difficult to book online at first most probably because the corrupt railway guys frustrated the process so that they could sell the physical tickets.

NSTA na bus? Bus wey you go take 3 days to reach Minna from Lagos. 10k is even expensive to pay on a NSTA bus from Lagos to Minna.

Wow!
Good to note that but govt should have come down to others Mini- buses, since the Govt might not know all the New buses, then liase with the Parks Chairmen across board but because of our Corruption, and lack of Trust elements between the leaders and the led!

Yes, I have someone that came home for the Xmas from sokoto state to Onitsha on Saturday, They were charged #40,700 by ifeanyichukwu transport. After payment they were refunded #15,000 and told that it is the TINUBU subsidy.

For the train, it's a yes too cos I saw a trending video of passengers complaining of overloaded train cos of the free fare. Some said that TINUBU should have left them to pay so that they can travel comfortably.

Good one by the govt. But salary wise thumbs down for them.
For the train yes,I was at train station yest and I was wondering where people came from cos the train was fully loaded with people standing.
Thou there was Nigerian factor cos a staff there gathered people, scope them and collected token from them

True. Since democracy Nigeria has been going backwards instead forward. Military era was only the best time Nigeria worked, so many Infrastructure and development came to be. Now, ho0ligans are ruling and scamming everyone in a broad daylight and they go SCOT-FREE after. Abacha is learning work in the present day Nigeria.

It's sad to read the bolded. But in all honesty, you have said the truth. Nigeria was a better country under military rule. Our current politicians, individually and collectively, have looted more than Abacha ever looted. Of all the presidents in the current "demo-crazy", the only one who has been beneficial to the country (in hindsight) was President Obasanjo. The country was less divided under his government than it is now. He appointed people from all the major ethnic groups to the so-called "juicy" positions. Heck he even "dealt" with a corrupt Police Chief who was from the same tribe as him, something that could never happen under the immediate past and will never happen under the current federal government

Those that travelled, before the president had an agreement with those transportation countries, is a perfect way to know if there a 50% reduction.
You can also use those transportation companies that are not listed current prices to compare.

Your number 4. Question should be directed to the owners of the transportation companies

5. The 50% slash is only temporary. It got nothing to do with subsidy whatever. It is simply for Christmas and new year celebration.
3. Tinubu is currently in lagos, you can pay him a visit, he will answer that question, since you don't know how a yearly budget works.

Comply?.

Because Tinubu bought their vehicles for them?
Do they not pay taxes?
You want a private enterprise to comply with a โ€œdirectiveโ€, while you, a government, owe your employee wages?
Is the reluctance by transporters to toe the line here not indicative of the lack of confidence of the business community in this administration?
Need I say more?
....
Na the same thing me and u dey talk.....
No be government be the issue...
Na the transporters and u can't blame them because them no trust the words of the government ...
You can't also blame the government because they can't pay for services not rendered....
The transporters need to render the service before submitting their invoice or billing to the government for action...
Like God is good for example... They can have a digital register where they keep the number of people traveling for the month of December....
The register need to match with the names on the receipt of the 50% paid by the customer for the government to consider it valid....
For example, if kunle is traveling to the east from Lagos... And the original price is 50k....kunle can pay 25k online with his receipt and NIN for the government to be able to pay the other 25k on his behalf....
This is to curb the issue or risk of fraud and ghost travelers....
The only way I blame the government is that all these should have been planned several months before now and not at the dying minute.....
By now sef... 3 months to... People wen Wan travel suppose Don book online.....booking should have been closed by now to avoid all these dying minute rush
You can't also
