Good day all.
My IELTS result due to be released on 10th Nov, 2023 was withheld. Up till now I haven't heard from them.
I called them again today ask if I can register for another test, the person that attended to me said I can get penalized for doing that. Staying that I have to do is wait till they conclude their investigations..

I already got admission I want to use the result for. So please I want to ask if should sit for IELTS IDP since the one withheld is from British council.
Thanks

Good day everyone, my wife paid for her UKVI IELTS yesterday but her dashboard is still showing that she needs to make payments. She paid via transfer and as instructed, she sent an email with her details to the email address that was provided but my worry is that it is stated on her portal that she has till the 6th - tomorrow to make payments or else her application will be cancelled and they said it takes them 7 working days to confirm payments.

Darey00:
I've been postponing the IELTS since last year and finally summoned courage to register last month. Even though I had ample time to study in spite of my busy work schedule, I only did practice for a week last month and forgot all about it.

3 days to the test last week and I was scared because my speaking practice was terrible. Like I couldn't even get past 2 mins while recording myself sad I Sha encouraged myself and went in to the exam center, lo and behold this morning when results came in, it was

Reading 8
Listening 8
Writing 7
Speaking 8.5

I couldn't believe it cos I was stammering a bit at the part 1 of the speaking test but got relaxed at part two and 3. I'm just happy I cleared it at the first time of asking.

My advise is this... For listening, pay attention to IELTS Liz and understand tye format of the question and the length of answers required. Do few practice tests and that's it.

Writing, use the first 2 mins to write your points down first before typing. A lot of candidates in my center started typing away immediately and many complained that they couldn't finish on time.

Reading is a bit easy if you can properly practice with few tests. Again, pay attention to the answer length.

For Speaking I guess, just relax and practice in front of the mirror. U are good to go

congrats. please what was the timeline to get your certificate? or can it be downloaded online?

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a widely recognized English language proficiency test for non-native English speakers. It is commonly used for purposes such as immigration, work, and study in English-speaking countries.

As the new year is around the corner many would like to relocate, you need to know the right IELTS exam to write on in other to achieve your goal of schooling and working abroad.

My recommended resources after wasting time on studying many.
It's better to stick to a few than perusing everything you came about.

Reading: ieltsliz.com, ieltsadvantage.com, Reading Bible, YouTube resources, Cambridge 10 to the last.

Listening: ieltsliz.com, ieltsbuddy.com, Cambridge audio

Speaking: ieltsliz.com, ieltsadvantage.com, ieltsbuddy.com, makkar speaking guess work, YouTube, Telegram speaking group

Writing : ieltsliz.com, ieltsbuddy book on task 1 and 2, Cambridge 11 to 18, chatgpt, YouTube.

Useful YouTube channels: FastTrack IELTS, ielts Jacky, E2 preparation.

In all, practice, practice and practice. Without practice, you won't be at your optimum on exam day. Trust me.

For reading practice, try to print out the Cambridge materials especially if you would be doing paper based. Reading on phone is different from reading on paper. This messed me up on exam day as it was strange answering the reading module while on paper.

My result is not out but I feel I should share this.
If I were to do this again, I would start by studying the module(speaking, listening and reading) for 2 weeks each, then move to writing Task 1 2weeks and Task 2 for 2 weeks.
After that I would dedicate 2 months for practice

Practicing is valuable than watching videos or reading books for tips. But practice after you have gained sound knowledge of what's required.

Well let me share my testimonies here.
I wrote my first IELTS exams August 22nd and i got a band 7.5 (S8 L8 W7.5 R6) I was advised to retake the exams because i needed a Band 7 in reading minimum and after a month i rewrote on October 7th and got a band 8 (S8.5 L8 W7.5 R7)

What i would ask anyone is prepare adequately because the exams is too expensive not to get your required band score.

Go into the exams with confidence. Pay attention it's the little details that matters.

Goodluck to those who are about to write
