I graduated with a 3rd class from school but I'm very good at web development. I want to apply to some colleges in Canada and I have chosen some schools in Ontario like Seneca, Canestoga, Durham, and Humber colleges. My question is, can I get admitted to any of these schools with my poor Uni results? |

PlsHELPaBruvva:Your documents are looking good, it all depends on how you put out your sop there explaining the source of the funds especially if you are self sponsor. Ofcourse if you own a business, it doesn't end at just the cac certificate |

PlsHELPaBruvva:If as self sponsor.. If a though visa officer takes your second year expenses into consideration,You will have insufficient funds... and the person will like to flag 🚩 lump sums..due to now increase of cost living for study permit in canada .. Your cost of living for the 2year program is 28million naira that is 20635 ^2 =41270cad and this did not include tuition fee for second year but your account balance is 24million naira.... You may need backup for your second yr expenses.. |

Good job so far. As rightly said, your funding source is a major determinant of the additional documents you need. Looks like your sponsoring yourself, so let me break it down for you. If you're sponsoring yourself and employed, some additional docs include: - Employment letter - Pay slips - If possible, get a letter of promotional offer to prove that you'd be promoted when you're done and back in Nigeria - Letter of study leave - etc Self-sponsor and self-employed or own a business: - CAC doc - Business Bank Account statement - Some transaction receipts of service offered to clients - Website if you have one - Payroll, if you have employees - etc - In your SOP, discuss the potential impact of the course on your business. I applied for my study permit as a self-sponsored and business owner. The main idea is to think of what the visa officer would want to see to clear all doubts about your source of funds. It is more important to show that your first-year expenses are covered and if this were last year, I would have advised you to forget the second year. However, given the recent happenings and policy modifications, I would agree that you should get a co-sponsor or something to prove that you can cover second-year expenses. That's all and your SOP must also be very detailed. Leave nothing to chance and follow up with prayers. PlsHELPaBruvva: |

Good day honorable house, My situation is very daisy…I Dey shake like this. Please, I need your help and guidance on my situation on visa application, especially on the proof of funds. Let me explain my situation with all honesty. I got a fully funded offer last year of about 22k to begin in May 2024, along side opportunity to apply for TA and fellowship scholarship upon arrival. I currently do not have upto 2k naira in my account as my FX account got blown, but my personal statement of account for six months shows 10m + due to inflow and out flow…and I use Kuda bank, which is termed MFB. Based on my brokenness, I couldn’t meet up with visa submission fee of $235 including biometric, before this new policy of $20.6k kicks in now 🤦🏽♂️. A close pal, who live in Canada assisted in paying the tuition initial deposit of $250 and is willing to pay for my visa fee. Now, my confusion and fear. How do explain my financial situation on my SOP to avoid refusals….because I fit faint, as I need a new beginning to show my skill to the world…being an electronic tech genius. 1. should I just state, that I was awarded a financial aid by the school and avoid including my personal statement. 2. Should I also state I will be living with my close pal for the period of my stay as I’m leaving my family behind in Nigeria? 3. Can my close pal living in Canada co-sponsor? Please house…what’s the best way to go…as o need to apply before Jan. 7 due to visa processing time. |

1. While some Vos, based on your presentation, can accept full funding with a monthly stipend as an acceptable proof of funds, others may not be as lenient as these scholarships, though available, are only accessible when you meet specific requirements. Temporary resident applications, such as a study permit, are based on the discretion of the visa officer handling an application. So, I recommend having a substantial amount and showing a reliable source of funds for the subsequent years. Suppose you don’t have additional funds or a sponsor. In that case, I strongly advise you to request a support letter from your Head of Department, or supervisor addressed to IRCC stating that they guarantee maximum financial support for tuition and living expenses and that you merit it. Furthermore, in your financial analysis, precisely mention what the scholarship covers, how much will be provided per period, and when it will be disbursed. 2. Most VOs are unlikely to buy the idea unless you can demonstrate a strong relationship with the person. 3. You can. Again, you should show the relationship with your pal and evidence of prior support since your pal is a third party. It takes a solid submission to convince a VO that a friend can pay such an amount for your education, especially if they are not financially buoyant All the best. techgen: |

Go for a higher level of education. For example, post-graduate diploma/cert or masters Facile162: |

| Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by techgen(m): 5:34pm On Jan 02, 2024 |
bullstriker:Thank you for your well articulated feedback, I’ll do my best and leave the rest for Jah. I never believed, I will get to this stage…but God keep coming through… I will do well to write a convincing SOP, stating the fact that I will meet up with the condition outlined in the offer, based on my past records. |
