Ignorance is a disease. It is better to try and read about "confined space"

I'm sure you are one of those people that uses the word "saner clime" without checking the meaning. Just a simple Google and YouTube search will educate more than all o can say.
Yes, it is a confine space, but it is not as dangerous as you portray it because it has a very wide opening that is capable to serve as window.

You mean water to finish before pumping again?
Yes. When your water finishes, the new pump hits the bottom of the tank, preventing extreme dirts. This is why flowing water is clean. So long you don't retain, it would pop the tanks floor..

Most likely black. The one in the picture is light coloured and allows penetration of sunlight which leads to formation of algae. Ours was Q4 2023. They charged 4k per tank.

Exactly and that's why black tanks have taken over, I don't see coloured tanks anymore in the places where tanks are being sold.

I've been looking for a wwy to speak with you privately, do you receive Nairaland pm?

Interesting
Very. Sometimes to wash even more, we leave all taps open while we pump. You can hear water hit the tank floor and sand flushed until clean

😂 It shows the level of your HSE exposure.

Have you ever heard that anyone died in an open water storex due to suffocation before? what are you stressing as if you alone knows what HSE safety procedures are. There can only be a serious problem if the ,id of the tank is closed. we currently have over 46 tanks to wash every month in our poultry farm and there has never been an issue. Just relax and stop exaggerating issues when you barely experience the practical.

That is nice, but you have to rinse properly. Maybe you did. But, it should be properly rinsed, because if not, the microbial growth will be more than before, especially with it being under the sun and it's a closed container.

The best way to rinse it, is with a pressure washer, so that the soap suds that films on the interior of the container, don't get etched inside it. When it gets etched inside, it will attract more microbes to it.

Already water is hard water or soft water.
Hard water is water with more calcium and magnesium. It can be checked by knowing the ppm (parts per million) based on size. Soft water is mostly like distilled water, made by boiling water in a boiler or sort, and extracting the steam to another container where it can be condensed back to water, that will be a distilled water.

Most water tanks will deliver hard water, most bore holes are hard water. You need some altered or hard water for drinking, in America and even Brazil, they add fluoride and other minimum things in the water, after processes it, to their water delivery main water line - the one that will be used for homes.

Hard water with microbe opportunities, will quickly adhere to the walls of the interior tank, and their strong adhesive offshoots will expand to their piping and also in your bucket or faucet. With one or two cycles of sun exposure, microbes will etch to the walls of the container. Skin issues, chances that boiling the water for feeding might not be enough to eliminate it.

So, I say all these, with many more left out. If you will do something, do it well. You need real water pressure to rinse that container out.
And most of these containers need to be washed at least twice or thrice a year. I appreciate your effort to quality of life. Cleaning that container, when done the right way, will help improve your quality of health, internally and externally.

I honestly commend your effort. But it's good people understand the process. It is more than one way, but they all need flushing. Even if it were stainless steel, even though stainless steel is safer and resist more microbes from sticking.

I am no way undermining your effort, am just expanding on a process, because if many people are going to do it, they need to be aware to do it right. Another way to rinse it without pressure washer, is to fill it up to the top lip, then open the valve, drain all of it, twice or thrice.

if you wanna boost your commercial boiler service / repair you must go with brand launchers to introduce your agency in market and you must build a portfolio for social media .

Second half of last year (2023). The tank didn't have build up of spyrogyra like the one in that photo but it had a lot of fine sand deposits at the bottom.
How will people like me that are claustrophobic now do the washing? 😭😭😭

why? Any explanation for why it should be so? Like the black color inhibits the sunlight necessary for the growth of algae?
Yes. That's the reason.

Spyrogyra can only grow when it has source of light.

Your tank is definitely dark colored. Or you add chlorine once in a while.

What's the color of your GeePee thank? Black one is better; it doesn't allow the sun to pass through for photosynthesis. This would prevent those green algae from growing.
