I'm a Christian and I can only speak according to my faith.

Polygamy is man made. God's intention for the institution of marriage as shown from the creation of Adam and Eve, is one man and one woman.

Expanse2020:

You should tell us how a Polygamous is sin...

Once again, I'm a Christian and the Bible regards homosexuality as a sin. In fact, it is one of the very few sins apart from idolatry that is described as an abomination by God.

You can conviniently accept and see Gay/lesbian as nothing bad

If you lack the discipline to commit to one woman because you cannot control your sexual urges, then maybe marriage wasn't meant for you.
Also, I'm not the only one who says that polygamy is a bad idea. Many important policy makers and thinkers have for decades now, come to realise that the overwhelming majority of Polygamous societies score very low on human development indices.

If it does not work for you it will be stupid ideas

As long as you put a wife at home and still poses different women outside your marriage..
And that is the definition of faithful to your wife

Na wa O. Sundar Pichai and Ngozi sound like mainstream Americans?

Abi what is your definition of mainstream US accent?

I gave you a simple test:

Pull up a speech by Sundar, and pull up another speech of an India guy speaking English with his India accent and listen to both; you will see the difference.

Pull Ngozi speech and another with an Igbo guy speaking English with Igbo accent compare both.

Now to my reference to mainstream America accent, compare Sundar and Ngozi speech to mainstream cooperate Americans like Bloomberg, Oprah, etc you will seen that there is more similarities between their speech to these Americans compare to their Native India or Igbo.

My friend you are talking to someone who lived abroad for over 2 decades and had high profile jobs without having to change my name to charles or victor or develop a fake accent like many low self esteem Nigerians do. Again I repeat, if you have something to offer you will be embraced. the problem with many Nigerians is they dont have anything to offer.

The only job abroad where your accent can be an issue is a call center job. And quite frankly if you leave Nigeria to be a call center rep, you clearly have nothing to offer!! its one of the lowest paying no skill jobs in any society.

if you are an engineer and your calculations are correct no one cares about your accent.
if you are an architect and your drawings are beautiful no one cares about your accent
if you are a lawyer and your legal arguments are sound , no one cares about your accent
if you are a programmer and your programm works, no one cares about your accent
if you are an artist and you produce beautiful paintings, no one cares about your accent
i can go on and on

the people who worry about accent are those with low skills with an inferiority complex.

NOI is DG WTO, everywhere she goes she dresses in Ankara and gele and speaks in a uniquely Nigerian accent!!!!

what you people dont know is that people can smell your fake accent and can immediately smell your inferiority complex.

So true

when you think foreign accent is a thing of pride or a subject to consume your discussions and aspirations, have already lost the race before it started. For example, many Nigerian artistes tried to imitate foreigners before the advent of Afrobeat, they all flopped!!! it is only when Nigerian artistes started to be themselves and sing in their unique African way that the world embraced them. You cannot be more oyinbo than the oyinbo man, you have nothing to offer if what you are selling is not authentic but a copy. So be yourself, be proud of yourself, your accent, your culture and your heritage, stop giving yourselves foreign names or speaking in fake foreign accents or projecting foreign as superior, you are subconsciously telling yourself that you and your own are inferior and not good enough. if you reject yourself, others will reject you.

there is no Nigerian artiste who has made in on the international stage with a foreign accent....remember that. Sunny Ade, Fela etc all sang in their Nigerian accents and projected their Nigerianness. And before you mention Sade Adu and the likes of SEAL, they were all raised abroad and are only Nigerian in name.
Thanks for your explanation, I largely agree with you. However there are exceptions. For instance, have you lived abroad? If you have lived abroad and you don’t try to adjust your natural Nigerian accent to blend in, you would find out that many people will find it hard to hear you which can severely impede communication and in some cases limit your career opportunities.
Sometimes it is not inferiority complex. it is just a good social skill that can open doors for you, professionally and personally particularly if you are abroad.

Old Glory.

Do you know that English is the native language of England?

The way we worship English enhnnn... It's over rated.

Making English language our official language is the first and purest form of slavery
what language would we have used as our national language? We have hundreds of them. Considering the level of tribalism in Nigeria if we had abducted one of the indigenous languages, would we not have a situation where others would be threathen and mocked for speaking a language that isn't theirs look at the recent elections where everyone turned it into tribal bashing, the abduction of English has done Nigeria more good than you can ever imagine we fight about ethnicity in everything in Nigeria, even in terms of Japa do you know how easy to migrate to canada US, Australia UK without the language barrier, speaking English does not in any way make you enslaved if Nigeria were developed we wouldn't be so sensitive to everything, to call speaking English slavery.

Why do people feel that only extremely beautiful, rich looking people have the right to speak properly? Like, if you are not that polished in your looks, most Nigerians will legit downgrade you and believe you are 'forming' or doing 'fake life' (as if being razz is for the poor, and being classy is for the rich, see mentality).

That is why the reporter is surprised.

I like how bold and confident she is, even when her looks show that not everything is going for her, even with her simple all back hairdo. May God give her a lifestyle that matches her class and character.

Nigerians think so locally most times. Some wig wearing nobodies with Instagram pages and fine clothes and cars would be instantly mistreating her and believing she's an uneducated village woman based on her appearance. And some silly guys will also act same too, they are so limited in thought. It has happened to me. So negative. Once you look haggard or you are not a beauty queen, they believe you grew up in a bush.

With due respect, I lived abroad for over 20 yrs. I never adjusted my accent. Take England for example, even the British find is difficult to understand each other. The Scottish accent, the scouse accent, the Brummie accent, the Irish accent and the cockney accents are sometimes difficult to understand even to the natives. We all have different accents, embrace it. The white man does not expect a man from Liverpool to speak with anything other than a scouse accent and the man from Liverpool will not adjust his accent to fit it…..so why do Nigerians feel a need to adjust their accents if not an inferiority complex and a lack of self esteem and self worth. Speak with your Nigerian accent with full chest, trust me the Oyinbo man will respect you more.

Again I ask when you hear NOI speak in international events, does she change her accent?

My brother but the bible didn't forbid polygamy
Every time God speaks about marriage in the Bible, He always speaks about marriage as a monogamous institution.
In fact, God hated the practice of polygamy so much that He actually had to intervene in order to regulate the practice.

Abraham is a polygamist
Abraham was not a polygamist. A polygamist is someone who has more than one wife at the same time. Abraham never had more than one wife at the same time. Hagar was not Abraham's wife, she was a surrogate whose only purpose was to provide Abraham with a male heir. Sarah was Abraham's only wife until her death. After Sarah died, the Bible tells us that Abraham married another woman named Keturah and she had 5 sons for him.
So no, Abraham was not a polygamist.

Jacob(Isreal) is a polygamist
Jacob was "tricked" into polygamy. He only wanted to marry Rachel, but Rachel's family tricked him into marrying Rachel's older sister Leah because according to them, it was a taboo in their culture for a younger sister to get married before her older sister.

David is a polygamist 🤣🤣(about 70 wives and thousands concubines as recorded in bibles)
Solomon also a polygamist
David had only 8 wives, not 70 and the Bible doesn't tell us how many concubines he had, but he couldn't have had many because he only fathered 18 children.
Both David and Solomon suffered because of their Polygamous marriages and the reason for this is because they broke God's law. In the Scripture, Kings of Israel were forbidden from "multiplying wives" or having more than one wife

If God is against polygamist he would totally stop it...
If God was in favour of polygamy, He wouldn't have created just Adam and Eve, He would have created Adam, Eve, Julianna, Elizabeth, Veronica etc

Then I think how people behave in Africa especially in Nigeria may make you reason like that ....
It's not just in Nigeria and Africa that polygamists live in poverty and wretchedness, it's a world wide phenomenon.

My brother I will like you to explain how Abraham did surrogate and why Hagar is not her wife

Then who told you that David have 8wives because when he left Jerusalem for his rebel son he left 10 wives which they didn't follow him according to the bible...
Then later Bibles said he even squired more wives and concubines which is u known to the writers self

Then Solomon who had 300wives and 700 concubines are they not prophet of God again..

And explain using bible verses how Jacob was trick into marriage..he even Married the same two sisters which is even abomination
And I never see anywhere in the new testament that Jesus forbid polygamy you can share with us if there is any
