Please i am interested in getting mentored. Currently working at a bank, but i've been learning web development for 6 months now. I am confused as to whether there are still opportunities in that space after all the layoffs and because of how saturated the space is currently. I'm ready to invest all my free time into learning a tech field that has a place in the future. binswoli: You will have to be very determined to start your coding journey with java as it is one of few complex languages not recommended for beginners. Why not think of learning python first? And once you get familiar a bit with it then move on to java. With more than 20 years experience in programming I can confidently say most beginners gets pissed off few weeks after the get started due to their inability to comprehend what they are doing. It is fun when you write codes and you see them in action in minutes. Setting up a java development environment alone may take you days if not weeks why python is just a matter of installing an msi and fire on. However java is a very wonderful language to learn.
