Wike, Umahi, Tunji-ojo, you've got to watch your back. Opposition is never happy seeing you deliver creditably, they try every ways possible to throw the spanner in the wheels. Since Betta took over, she has opened up various programmes, added more beneficiaries into the welfare packages, more impressively is the introduction of retired security personnels, widows of gallant soldiers who died on the field, including previously neglected soldiers whose limps were lost in battle, giving them a new lease of life. My advice to the opposition is, let people work and stop the distractions. Sponsoring media propaganda against top notch performers is a poor tactics and a wrong use of money. Betta is a moving train.

I quite agree with you. Look at the sequence of the allegations. The former minister was invited for questioning but refused to go. All of a sudden, allegations surfaced that the current minister is complit in fraud.

Honestly, if President Tinubu doesn't sack Betta Edu for this singular action, he would have a real problem in the eyes of millions of Nigerians who expect him to plug the leakages in the Nigerian financial system.

I'm wondering who the "millions of Nigerians " you are referring to are.

No reasonable person who knows Tinubu and how he got into power expects him to block leakages. Even if he does, it's not with genuine intentions. Probably blocking those he doesn't like from looting.

This is the honest truth.

I will not defend Edu on this
On the surface it looks dodgy and the public need an explanation

I just want to talk about the wording of the law and some of the discussion in abstract terms
1 What is a PRIVATE ACCOUNT. Is this PERSONAL account only or can it include companies, clubs, churches,NGOs etc?
2. What is public money? E.g if the government is owing a community money and pays the money to a traditional ruler, legislator etc is that money government money or the money of the creditors. Let us not forget that salaries are paid into personal accounts. So arguably salaries are not public money but belong to the PAYEE S
These and many other potential legal loopholes are what we need to identify and block in future

What rubbish is this? What concerns us with the programmes she has initiated? Whenever they are accused of illegal and unethical acts, they'll begin to look for means of defending themselves. What concerns opposition in this? Was it opposition parties that directed Beta Edu to unlawfully ordered transfer of public funds into account?

I read the post twice to see if there is any link between Min Betty Edu violating basical financial regulations of the federal government of Nigeria and your unguarded attacks and blame on the opposition, I found none. You are obviously a paid agent of disinformation working for those who paid you, but Nigerians are wiser now, hunger and poverty induced by the ruling party's inability to ensure that hyneas and vultures like Betty Edu do not have access to our public coffers. You can defend them till tomorrow, you can blame the opposition till thy kingdom come, one thing is sure, you cannot convince any Nigerian that is not fooolish or blind, that it is legal to pay public funds over 500 million into a private account. It is people with low mental construct like you that you will often excite or convince with your deranged rhetorics.

Irrelevant and sentimental
Does Bette owe the public an explanation?
This particular ministry is very sensitive and needs a person with competence and integrity
At the very least Beta has shown incompetence if we want to be kind to her
What would be a good achievement for any person in her position
To work with interior Ministry to put together a Social Register based on NIN that Nigerians trust.
If that was in place we would not be having this conversation
We should very quickly ensure that all Adults have a bank account and look into option for those in Rural area.

THIS IS FRAUD per excellence. Is she in the ministry to perpetrate fraudulent acts with civil servants in open glare of the public?

Project funds are not supposed to be handled that way. Or, she is an armed robber brought to government.....

My friend, stop being sentimental jare

Why would 500+ Million Naira be paid from public to a private account under her instructions?

If she made a mistake or doesn't understand the Financial Regulations, she should accept her lapse

If she did it with fraudulent intent, she should own up.

You didn't receive money meant for Nigerian households yet you're defending people who don't even know your surname

oga she did wrong here lets face it. 500million plus might be a lighter crime compared to her predecessors who stole billions.
she should outrightly come out and own up to the crime rather than shifting goal post. the former minister is alredy being investigated also.
