Their past performance looked galloping. Growth is not the way the projection is. Although its just a projection which should help them to know their target. |

In all you do please don't invest in only two stocks no matter how promising they are... Learn percentage investment or better still investment by PERCENTAGE... Have at least 10 fundamentally healthy stocks in your portfolio... E get why!!! Many of you will remember this in years to come 10 Likes |

Perspective on IB Currently, the free float of the shares is less than the required minimum of 20 percent. They promised to meet up with the requirements. Question would be "How"? Simple answer would be 1. Sell some of the shares being held by the parent company and directors...thus increasing free float 2. Right issues in which the parent company and directors will not pick their right issues so that the percentage holding of the parent company and directors can dilute. Option 2 is more practical. Here, the question would be " what if other shareholders refused to pick the offers, thus maintaining the status quo in ownership in terns of percentage? Answer would that the company would have considered this possible outcome. Solution is that there is already available new Comer who has guaranteed to pick all the right issues. What this will do to IB stock is that it will help the company to achieve its planned meeting up with the free float requirements. It will also help the company to raise new capital. It will improve share liquidity. It also ushers in new majority shareholders thus improving board decisions and overall management constitution. 2 Likes |

It is very surprising how data can reveal patterns that validate logical assumptions. Below is a screenshot showing the percent deviation from the proposed 12 Nascon to 11 DangSugar ratio. You can see how the market has maintained this deviation between +5% and -5% starting in late August, coinciding with the announcement date of August 30th. Even though the market does not fully agree on the price given its oscillation, it has maintained proportionality close to the announced ratio. As of yesterday, we have a +4% deviation in favor of Nascon. I can assure you that one of two things will happen next week. Either Nascon will fall below 60 or DangSugar will break its highest level of 70. Edited: From the chart, I also noticed that the two stocks were already moving to align before the announcement date. Is this some form of inside trading? Have some people gotten the news before others? 1 Like

For comparison, I recomputed the chart to start from the first of January 2022. You can see how these two have been moving far away from each other, maintaining a very large variation from the proposed proportion.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 8:19am On Jan 13 |
ositadima1: If Nascon should fall below 60, it means from the ratio, sugar should fall below 65. Considering the scheme for the merger. Since every 12 Nascon equals 11 sugar I think as of yesterday, NASCON is cheaper to buy compared to Sugar. Since Sugar was selling for 68.20, it means that Nascon should be about 62.5. Nascon sold at 60 which is below the price it should sell compared to Sugar. So if price of sugar does not move by next week, investors should look at buying Nascon at current price and it should move up to be at par. Should sugar move to 70, Nascon should move to around 64. If the sentiment for next week is to buy either Nascon or sugar, it is advisable for investors to go for Nascon as early as possible before the price meets up with sugar rationally 5 Likes |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by ositadima1(m): 8:25am On Jan 13 |
jaybee3: It is only logical that the two stocks must be priced in relation to the proposed announcement, even when the actual listing price is not known. And since we know that DangSugar is the stock that is going to absorb the others, DangoteFoods' listing price should be very near DangSugar's or exactly it. A huge variation of Nascon, especially below, from DangSugar would be a sure opportunity. So, I plotted the daily variations and noticed that it maintained close proximity to the proposed ratio. On the other hand, I am a hobbyist stock data analyst. I ask questions and try to use statistics and stock data to answer questions as my power reach. 4 Likes |

unite4real: Yes, you are correct - either Nascon goes up or Sugar goes down to maintain the ratio. I make interpretation mistakes like this when I am busy and typing fast, but I am sure Sugar will cross 70 for another reason. Thanks! |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 8:43am On Jan 13 |
ositadima1: If ur chart shows sugar to cross 70, then it's best for smart investors to quickly load Nascon early enough next week at an entry of 62.50 and below. It's cheaper now. It also appears the SEC approval news is near. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by jaybee3(m): 9:49am On Jan 13 |
ositadima1: Volume of transactions is moving the price and it’s definitely interesting to see the perceived correlated pattern emerge I don’t think the volume of transactions (post news) that directly correlates with price, can be manipulated to maintain the deviation. Hence my correlation doesn’t always equate to causation comment To further test your hypothesis and validate the outcome as true positive, i have basically asked that you increase the scope of period used in extracting the daily deviation. This will allow us confidently and logically conclude the behavior is somehow related to the news even though it’s still an oddity |

jaybee3: The analysis to determine if the proposed merger terms of 12 units of salt for every 11 units of sugar were reflected in actual market prices. Here are the steps I took: **I set up a function to represent the proposed ratio of salt to sugar prices: salt = (11/12) x sugar. This allows me to calculate the expected salt price for any given sugar price based on the proposed terms. **I then plotted the ratio (11/12 x sugar/salt - 1) x 100 over time. This normalizes the pricing ratio to 0 when the actual prices reflect the proposed terms. **I added a red reference line at 0 on the chart, representing perfect accordance with the proposed 11:12 ratio. The data shows that actual market prices started aligning with the proposed ratio within +/- 5% around the time the merger announcement was made. This suggests the market began pricing in the expected terms. **In the second chart I extended the data points back to 2020. Interestingly, there appears to be another pricing relationship from 2020 to 2022-03 of roughly 12 units of salt for every 10 units of sugar. I'm not sure if that is just coincidence. **I can provide the Python code and data to allow independent verification of my analysis. Please let me know if you would like me to share those. Conclusion: The market data suggests traders began pricing salt and sugar based on the proposed merger ratios around the deal announcement. 2 Likes

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by jaybee3(m): 11:23am On Jan 13 |
ositadima1: Superb!! Perhaps that’s how they arrived at the ratio In any case, are you able to extend this analysis to possibly identify pairings that normally has a relatively stable historical deviation, and now lags significantly from such deviation. That could potentially provide a buying opportunity with the lagged stock if the analysis is bang on point |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 11:33am On Jan 13 |
ositadima1: Your conclusion is in perfect order. Investors that buy large volumes use this ratios perfectly. I believe the market makers will do what they have to do at the tail end before suspension. The final price difference may not be more than 2% |
