I submitted my application for a new passport through the recently launched Immigration website on the 9th of this month, with today being designated as my capture date. However, much to my surprise, everyone who had applied and paid online using the new website was turned away, citing that our applications were still pending approval. We were advised to either return later or continuously check for approval updates.

Seeking clarification, I approached an immigration officer to discuss my situation and inquire if this was a normal occurrence. To my shock, he disclosed that only their boss has the authority to approve applications and suggested that I could expedite the process by paying a fee of 10,000 Naira. Unfortunately, I left disheartened as I didn't have the required funds. This situation is highly unusual, and I wonder if anyone else has faced a similar predicament.

Convenience? Which convenience are you referring to?

Is it how applicants on the new website wasted transport money to the immigration office or the time wasted?

We were told everyone that applied using the new website from 8th of January required one supposed approval which is pending for only what God knows or you bribe them!

I did Diy for my wife and children just this month a day before the new application process in Abeokuta. I'm surprised they're giving excuse for online process instead of acknowledging it. Which way Nigeria?
