Serious and organised countries have theirs at 4/5, some even 7.

But in Nigeria, people already want to dump their children in creche from the age of 6 months

I want to know the meaning or difference between creche, kg, and nursery?

Anyone has an idea?

I prefer the old ways

Nursery then primary and secondary

All this KG, Creche and what ever they call it , I see it as a way of making money by school owners

4 or 5 is the best age.

He is mentally and socially developed and capable to assimilate, ponder and ask questions.

You can teach a kid 1-10 at 2 years old, but he is not mentally capable to know what they mean or uses. He is only memorizing.

Unfortunately AKI and Pawpaw might never have gone to school…

While that small girl with big god called Regina Daniel might still be in primary school now

I am no expert with kids...

But I think sometimes it depends on how sharp the kid is.

But there is really no handout to these things.

Kids nowadays as quick.

Probably 4 years old... But not serious school. Those crèche whatever where they do those play things.

I told you am no an expert with kids!

4 years that is already in nursery 2.
No parent want the child to be behind his mates. So you see them dictating to schools where their child should be and if the child is assessed and qualifies, he's going regardless of the age. Even some that don't qualify, parents will still push. Na your money kill am.

creche is baby group (1 to 2yrs), kindergarten is pre-nursery (2 to 3yrs) while nursery is pre-basic (3 to 5yrs) (basic is primary, from 5 to 9yrs/10yrs depending on the sch). I stand to be corrected.

3 is fine,Nigeria we try to rush education for our kids without having to wait for their brains to develop well and have good intelligence.

That's why you see a 14 years old child in ss3 with no emotional intelligence, got admission into the university and misuses his brain to do bad and not good. I love the UK style, a child won't get into a class if he/she hasn't reach the expected age meant for the class.

It not so, there are some kids that are intelligent that needs to be enrolled in school as soon as possible...

My daughter got enrolled at 1 and half years, she was even the best in her class, because she was way intelligent, and school needs to start setting in, if not she might loose the intelligent nature to something else of not quickly nurtured...

She's 3years old and in KG2 now and she's currently leading her class

What do the kids actually do in creche? Is it compulsory for the kids to go to creche?

This is exactly the case with my son too but he is 4yrs now and in KG3. He also started early due to nature of our job and it really helps his intelligence, he is topping his class too.

Some nursery sch will said they follow British standard, but a child can only start in abroad from 4yrs.
I will advise you should have reason (Working class parent) to put ur child in sch at earlier age like 2,3yrs. Otherwise, please home school your child till they are 4yrs.

I feel like parents rush kids these days...

They should allow them enjoy enough of their childhood.

Don't know where there are rushing the kids to.

Just that kids these days are way smarter also!

If i tell u wot dey do in creche u will laugh. They actually play cartoon for dem on TV, feed them wen its time, change their diapers, sing and play with dem and monitor dem wen dey sleep. creche is not compulsory, it's for busy or career parents.

Yes they rush them and it has been the norm for years now.

Yeah they are smarter and Teaching techniques and method have also improved and made learning easier and faster so that a child can start reading from nursery 2.

Teachers too are stepping up their game.

This is a big issue. I saw one this week. Looks like a six month old baby. I shout say this one too don start school? With uniform o..

As I was taking them rhymes, he didn't even mind me and was just pacing up and down the classroom. I said what are parents looking for bikonu? This one that should still be sucking breast, they carry uniform hang for him neck. Though what I like about him is that he didn't cry or disturb as long as we didn't give him any task to do. cheesy grin lol..

The right age should be 4 but schools admit a year+ and 2 years old cos I remember when working as a full timer, all my pupils celebrated their 2nd birthday in kg 1 and as we were moving to kg2 they were already 2. I moved with them because parents say na me must handle their ward in the next class o. Na run I run that ebola period grin

Most of them dey secondary school now. Chai my babies.

Chai, I just love this ur funny comment.

It's so,does she have psychological intelligence, yes she might be leading her class and be the best in her studies but does she have other types of intelligence that will help her psychology, social interactions, emotions etc...and every other ways to live life right

Well its because the government and the economy of Nigeria is poorly ruined and a graduate above 26 years can't get a job that's why you see it as fine
