Starting XI according to owngoalnigeria
3-4-3

Ola Aina
Zaidu Sanusi
William Troost-Ekong
Semi Ajayi
Calvin Bassey
Ademola Lookman
Alex Iwobi

Seems Jpes wants to park the bus and catch CIV on counter attack. This may look like 3-5-2 formation too ooo

No matter the result of the game today, if we can't beat the Guinea Bissau side by 3 goals then there's a problem. They look so vulnerable and easy to tear apart

Tight situation how? This shows the Ivorians are not that good! It is the Ivorians that should be scared scoring just 2 goals against the weakest team of the tourney!

!
Rockyrascal:
EQ Guinea must not win this match, else we could find ourselves in a very tight situation qualifying to the next round

You guys will appreciate super eagles play this evening…

Nigeria tore through this eq. Guinea over and over under the hot Sun and could have whipped them 5 goals with them creating just one chance.

I don’t the Ill luck of peseiro, he definitely needs luck, but if it’s that last game, Nigeria were very dominant.

I don't understand him. Notice that he doesn't face the goal post of the opponent. He usually faces the opposite flank. And then he will be dancing. He has regressed

The consistent crosser of the ball in eagles history is Finidi George now assistant coach.I expect him to give the wingers more lesson on it.Well against EG we had decent crosses and one led to a goal.
They never cross the ball. When Ademola did, we scored.

I hope he plays well this evening. CIV are indeed average team, coz they made GB look like a Contender. LOL!

We must not beat CIV less down 3 to nil.

Nah. Ajayi can always slot in to the DM role and still have Aina-Ekong-Bassey-Sanusi behind him.

Anyway, the formation we are adopting it is serious discipline or things go awry quickly.

EQ 4-1 GB
Makes Ivory Coast's victory looks less impressive and our 1-1 draw with EQ less calamitous.

I pray we don't concede early sha.

Bissau is the Sao Tome of this group. Stat padding loading for Osimhen. E sure me. Nsue na defender amd e see Hattrick. Then 6-0 loading.

A draw won't be favourable tonight as we have to rely on Ivory coast beating Eq Guinea in their last match by atleast 2goals.
The lack of winning culture in this team must be arrested, starting from today!

Zaha for club and country vs Simon Moses for club and country.

Abeg There is no argument here pls. You're doing like Simon do much for country. But can he replicate Zaha EPL form? No argument here.

I sha pray we see wingers that are good finishers and teamplayers. Or solely make things happen alll by themselves. I prefer the latter. Till then, this argument is no dey. Lol
Where did u see me mention Simon?

For what it's worth, Simon has more impact in the national team than Zaha has for Ivory Coast.. he isn't that much of an important player for them...
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Curtisaxel10: 5:14pm On Jan 18, 2024
My only fear is that the use of inverted wingers will reduce the number of crosses that will get to Osimhen since Chukwueze et al prefer to cut in.

Notice the high volume of crosses from the wings to Osimhen in the last match when Lookman, a right-footer, played from the right.

But again, the wingbacks can do the crossing and the inverted wingers can cut in to sting the Ivoriens.

It's a gamble that I hope will pay off.
