Senegal absolutely dominant. They are now scoring unlike in 2021. But they will be knocked out second round. That's what my bad belle spirit tells me

They are actually beatable, they have gaps in their defence too

The Senegal Vs Cameroon is the best game I've watched so far .

Fireworks 🎆, thunder 🎇 and Lightning ⚡ end to 🔚 just fabulous. Forget team tactics, this was African 🌍 Football ⚽ at its best. Mane is world class wow what a game

I forgot to say two of the best goal 🥅 keeper in Africa Mende and Onana.

This game is POWER 💪🏿 plus Power and athletic physicality IT'S RAW

Loving 😍 it

Two Lions🦁🦁 at war

Both goalkeepers are horrible, and made horrible mistakes today. The goalies for the lesser sides who have to save millions of shots every game to keep their teams still in contention and to keep scorelines respectable are better.

Their attack is so lethal and you see how their goals come from the front players. We shouldn't depend on Osimhen only. Other players should step up

No point arguing with you
You don’t watch Leicester city play
A striker can drop deep, hold up play and give passes to the inverted wingers on the run
Unfortunately football doesn’t also record the third man in possession before a goal is scored
There’s more to goals than just the goal scorer or the assist.
A goal or assist doesn’t tell the full story about the build up
He does well to help Fatawu, Mavdidi & others on the flanks
There’s really no point arguing about this
Ive been watching Leicester because of Ndidi & Kelechi
They’ve all been playing as a team and deserve to win the championship
Not getting a goal or assist doesn’t tell the full story.

Already your approach turns balanced analytics upside down. You just watch Ndidi and KC, you are too biased to have a balanced appraisal.

When you are striker your job is to score goals, stop being ridiculous.

I've watched Leicester city several times and I don't agree with you one bit.

One of this commntator on startimes do not rate Naija chance at all. His Co partner asked him which teams is it?

He be like, Senegal and obviously Morocco.

The other guy asked again, are you sure Nigeria is not there in the mix, especially with yesterday match? And apart from osimhen that we have an EPL midlfield.

He be like " we don't have a world class goal keeper and our back is shakey" etc. And proceded to add CIV in the mix as host nation.

My point is I'm so happy they not giving us a chance. Until we meet them and beat them.

The fact that we beat CIV doesn't mean we are doing well. We have a horrible team with individual talents. Because Osimhen can hold up to create chances from nothing and Bassey and Aina are 1v1 monsters doesn't mean we were better than CIV. We can't keep playing like this, it is not sustainable.

DM that suits Southgate game.

Kalvin Philips has not had much game in Manchester city if any to be honest. However, the EPL is flooded with top players across the globe.

And the reality is tell me one English player that was not selected that's a DM that's better than him.

not a dm but even stones will perform better than him in that position. Guardiola prefers him to kalvin in the dm position already.

From the Civ-Nig game

1. We can defend a lead. Very important in a tournament. From 55minutes or so....
2. Above all, we played tournament football...penalties, defence and good goalkeeping win you tournaments...

Cheers..Peseiro may have understood the goal.

nah. A better defense would have done that. People like to shit on onana but the first two goals were none of his faults(yet to see the third goal)

E sure me die say most people here nor sabi ball.

I nor sabi ball too but some people here are worse. Most of them are quiet because they were eagerly waiting for peseiro to fail so they can come out and scream, ” we told you so!!!” They can’t even criticize Osimhen because of selective amnesia. 😅😅

You can ban me or delete my comment but being nairaland famous is like being Rich in Monopoly..

You're being hilarious. As if Bassey have been world class over the past few years for club and country. His ill-fated time at Ajax is still fresh and the comment you quoted was on a match day Bassey gave Spurs 2goals.

Let's enjoy the win and not bring unnecessary negativity. We have suffered enough from minors getting results against us, going entire calendar year without a single win and even our world cup hopes in jeopardy. Pipe down

Stones is a CB for England already.

Maybe you haven't noticed but Pep Guardiola is not the Manager of England and he is entitled to his preference.

Exactly... coaches are entitled to their preferences. If JPes preferred Kels ahead of Onyedinma, Akpororo and Iregbogbo, nothing you can do about it.

This is a very good question o

Plan B and C should be readily available

As for formation, depending on the team we play
4-3-3
5-4-1
3-4-3

The loss to Tottenham you talked about was in October 2023. Semi made that comment in July 2023.
Maybe you guys are teleporting across the universe. I am not trying to spread negativity. Just stating the obvious, bro.

Only plan is Moffi. I am not really sold out on Onuachu. There is so much brute force in this AFCON. See how CIV was tossing our players aside in 1v1 duels. Aside Bassey. That one na Rhino.

@gamaliel9 i just hope it holds and don’t crack when we face lethal teams that can pass, keep possession and find/create spaces
And then again this will be effective only if your forwards can finish when they get half chance

Morocco did this almost perfectly in the World Cup
It’s in their bag of tricks & they can do it perfectly well, they can pull it from their trucks bag.
Defend their lives and score half chances
