I am a yoruba, I speak and write it fluently. English fluently, I speak French, because of where I was born, and because I spent my early childhood there. I speak passable Spanish.....travelling things.....understand hausa language , can't speak fluently.

You made a valid point. It is not fully developed.....i remember, what Baba Faleti said, when my friends and I visited him years back ....he said, there was a move by some yoruba professors to developed the use of yoruba to teach mathematics and other subjects. But the idea or move was buried.

A state surrounded by water that doesn’t have drinkable water. No road. No hospital. Education has dilapidated but they are thinking of bringing and feeding, guarding and paying Chinese men.

With the level of allocation that Bayelsa receives every month, the state can, conveniently, be paying, at least, N25,000 every month to its indigenes and still be able to do a lot of projects.

I don’t see why governors of a state like Bayelsa with huge allocation cannot construct some hundred watts of electricity for his people and give them concrete or solid interlocking or asphalted roads, modern clinics (2 per local government), new classrooms building, etc.

How much were Awolowo and Bola-Ige spending on these things when they were using cocoa money then?

China is a global powerhouse that has taken the world by storm in all spheres of human development.

Their language is worth studying because in the next 10 years, there's going to be massive interface with Chinese civilization and one's ability to communicate fluently in the language opens a lot of vistas.

I hope this isn't an attempt to use China to contain and enslave our unborn generations because if u look inward, their activities in Nigeria and how they subject our people to an untold hardship with inhuman treatment at any. China have a penchant for maltreatment worse than u can describe India.

For me, It's not entirely wrong to understand a foreign language except in an event where we try to idolize it makes it annoying and the said country will use it to it's advantage.

China is not a friendly country like English speaking countries.

1. Invest in massive fishing projects in each local government.

2. Invest in professional swimming training for Bayelsa indigenes to shine in International competitions.

3. Include History in the school curriculum. Particularly civil war history.

Honestly, we need to develop our indegenous languages like the Asians.
Imagine the level of understanding if you yave to learn chemistry or maths in Yoruba or Igbo or Hausa.
Even as small as South Korea, they created and developed their own languages not abandon them for a foreign language.

We should have a seperate ministry for indigenous language developement headed by a fully qualified linguistic professor.

Then we incorporate our indigenous language into education and make it mandatory.

There should be like maths textbook in Yoruba dialect for example and the use made compusory from pry 1.
Imagine having to learn maths in your own dialect like the Asians.

Our children can't even speak or write our languages anymore.
This is not acceptable.
