Xavi is one of the best players that ever played for Barcelona. He was a monster in the midfield. Xavi, Iniesta and Lionel Messy were the pillars that made Barca a formidable club. Pep Gardiola would have won no trophy in Barca without them.

The only current midfielder that comes anywhere close to Xavi in his prime is Kevin de Bruyne

Kevin De bruyne is head and shoulders better than Xavi.
Kroos is also much better than Xavi.
Players better than Xavi are numerous.
He was just lucky to be among good players and managers. Hence his specific performance was not easily discerned by a category of people which you obviously belong.
