DWJOBScom:

We do no need the chaos that comes with it
There are other places where businesses can be set up without messing up residential peace

Let's give this better perspective for it to sink in.... Today it's religious centres and sitouts right? What if tomorrow the govt decides to relocate all businesses from residential areas in furtherance of the so called original master plan. Can you imagine traveling distances to buy a bar of soap from the supermarket or just to get a hair cut?

Moderation is key. Soundproof sitouts and bars and religious centers and sanction defaulters instead of shutting them down indiscriminately. For those religious centers without approvals, work with them to get them up to code and issue then requisite permits. People are going through a lot these days and religion and sitouts are our own form of local therapy here. That's why you don't have the kind of random shootings in public places here that happen every now and again abroad.

obi58 has written so much crap on this thread in an effort to be negative. There are building regulations in Lagos and you know when you get a piece of land whether it is residential or commercial. It is illegal to convert a residential piece of land to a commercial business. The people that did the conversion know this. The government must enforce the law and no whataboutism can change that.

The government is not arbitrarily removing buildings because it feels like. Those businesses are illegally situated

Religion is a Satanic program to keep fallen humanity fallen from birth to death.

Satan brought in Religion to deceive Man that Religion is the way out of the Sin Problem.

Jesus didn't come to establish any or another Religion! Authentic New Testament Christianity in essence is not, has never been and will never be Religion! JESUS CAME TO RE-ESTABLISH OUR LOST RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD! THAT GOD BE OUR FATHER AND WE, HIS CHILDREN!

1 John
3:1 BEHOLD, WHAT MANNER OF LOVE THE FATHER HATH BESTOWED UPON US, THAT WE SHOULD BE CALLED THE SONS OF GOD: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
3:2 Beloved, NOW ARE WE THE SONS OF GOD, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3:3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

THE REAL TARGET OF THESE LAWS IS NOT AGAINST RELIGION PRETENDING TO BE CHRISTIANITY, IT IS AGAINST THE REAL CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST!

All na END TIMES anti-Christ activities, some direct some indirect, some open some subtle like this State action & the haters running away from Jesus who died for them will love it!

Which standards exactly? Where are the standards when it comes to roads in Lagos? Health centres? Schools? Market places? Motor parks? Where are the standards when it comes to sanitising lastma? Where are standards when it comes to maintaining BRT buses which are fast beginning to look like blue molues? Have you been to the toilets at the Oshodi bus terminal recently? What's the state of facilities at LASU? LASPOTECH? How many scholarships has LASG provided? Business grants to budding entrepreneurs? What exactly is LASEMA doing to eradicate Agberos which one of the biggest environmental menaces in Lagos state? I hear in Abia state ticketing is now electronic for transporters so there are no Agberos anywhere. Won't this boost government revenue and improve the lives of Lagosians?

My brother, charity begins at home. LASG needs to start first with revamping public infrastructure and improving the quality of social services before they start forming activity walking up and down looking for people's businesses and structures to destroy.
one hero for you!!

Like I always say.. one size cap doesn't fit all. Soundproofing worship centres to curb noise pollution is not a bad idea but forcing them to relocate outside residential areas is taking it too far.

The sound proofing rule and specified noise levels has always been there. People don't comply. Some have been closed severally, yet the situation remains the same once reopened. It's a terrible experience having a sleepless night after the day's gruelling stress.

If Lagos can get rid of these religious houses, I will be the happiest man on earth. If one doesn't look well that no church or mosque is close by to where one wants to rent an apartment, the fellow will almost run mad with the way these mad people make noise. One would think they are godly people, they are evil deceiving themselves with religious activities.
but should leave ashawo and strip clubs where your destruction will definitely come from. One thing I have known since I was born is that no one had ever defeated the church

It even goes beyond that. You cannot set up any such establishment without planning permission. It is illegal.

So, what's stopping you from relocating to Abia state ? If only those people who have poured their entire villages into Lagos State will start relocating back to wherever jungles they came from, the pressure on the existing public infrastructures will reduce and Lagos State government will be able to work more on improving the quality of social services in the state !

Mtchew, they keep arriving in droves from their godforsaken erosion ravaged land of criminals thereby putting massive pressure on the state public infrastructures but these same villagers from hell won't stop blaming and criticizing the Lagos State government for every step taking to right all the wrongs !

It's not a must to live in Lagos, those who are not comfortable with what the state govt is doing to sanitize the state and make it a descent environment for sane people to live in can go back to wherever jungle they came from !

It's illegal to use residential places as church even if you use sound proof.

Are those places originally build and registered as churches?.
If not, this new law is a welcome development.
