You are indeed a clown and a joker. Who buys tomatoes for preservation for a year. This only happens when the misinforned becomes weathy. And to make such a post only does nothing but project your IQ and poor level of understanding of life. In atomic chemistry and physics, a phenomenon exists that is called half-life. By principle, it also exists in biological sciences. The half-life principle when it comes to food and its kinds theoritisizes that the quality of all kinds of foods in life reduces in quality each day until ut becomes ordinary shaft ( death process )

What i am saying in essennce is that it is to your great disadvantage to buy raw foods for long term storage because the nutritional components of the foods becomes broken and broken down by each day. You will eat it but what makes it nutritous and nourishing for the body completely breaks down molecularly and by the time you eat it after prolonged storage the butrients in it would have diminished by as much as 50-70% hence life by this principle encourages continous work so no one stores and refused to work further

I am saying aby storage of tomatoes, vegetables, pepper for long term is a disadvantage. Do not repeata this again. Eat, thank God for provision and pray to have for the future

Why do you sound frustrated in the first place?
Is it your tomatoes?
Learn to control your adrenaline. You don't know more than most people here.

I posted it to deliver the ones you are going to miseducate.

I did patiently explain it to you scientifically. So asking me of fishes are atored using ice or not ?

That is because the time it takes for the nutriotional contents to dissolve is different from one food to another. For tomatoes, it is extremely short, same for all vegetables. I am a believer in food storage, but excessive food storage that preserves the food nutients is one that must be studied before applying. Example preserving tomatoes by grinding and places like sesame oil over it preserves as much of its butrients as possible.

I am never against the concept of food storage but embracing the concepts as you are brandisging it is nothing but lack of education. The money you are trying to save is far more thab the equvalent of buying it regularly at the peak quality form.

Whether you buy in bulk or not thats your headache. I cant remember the year i bought in bits either. But buying tonatoes to store for a years use is simply pure lack of education[/quote]

The problem was not the science but the tone. If you are educating someone it shouldn't be insulting. If you had said exactly what you said with your suggestion about the sesame oil, his response would have been different and the entire tone of the story would be educative.

How do you start "educating" someone by calling them a 'clown and a joker'? Even if you have a point, you have ruined everything you want to educate them about. I'm very sure you wouldn't dare if you were to stand physically in front of the op to call him names.
You owe him an apology, whether you had a valid point or not.

We are talking specifically of tomatoes here, the OP stored a sac of freesh tomatoes in a deep freezer, W He didn't blend the tomatoes and maybe parboiled it....then stored in the freezer...

By the time that sac of tomatoes is defrosted...he ends up with a mushy and mealy tomatoes.

If he had "grounded" them as we tend to call it and stored the freezer, farmplanetNG will not be so hard on him.

Mind your business doesnt work on public forums. Google what a forum mans to educate yourself. Pkus, if the world takes all contrary opinions as being bitter, there will be no better in the world. You gotta be kidding me!
Where on earth has it been said that tomato cannot or should not be preserved?
OP has looked at his economic situation and has decided to be proactive and you have the temerity to run him down.
Is it your money he has used to buy it? Is it you he wants to feed with it? Or has he asked you for where to preserve the tomatoes?
Come here and see how Nigerians rush tomatoes and habanero pepper to preserve and use for long duration. I have done that several times. Who wants to be going to the grocery store every day to buy tomato because according to you "they are called perishables"? Grind the thing, boil it, put in small packs/containers, and store in your freezer. Will that be any different from the tin tomato you buy?

There's a reason why they put expiry dates on them in developed countries.
