In atomic chemistry and physics, a phenomenon exists that is called half-life. By principle, it also exists in biological sciences. The half-life principle when it comes to food and its kinds theoritisizes that the quality of all kinds of foods in life reduces in quality each day until ut becomes ordinary shaft ( death process )

What i am saying in essennce is that it is to your great disadvantage to buy raw foods for long term storage because the nutritional components of the foods becomes broken and broken down by each day. You will eat it but what makes it nutritous and nourishing for the body completely breaks down molecularly and by the time you eat it after prolonged storage the butrients in it would have diminished by as much as 50-70% hence life by this principle encourages continous work so no one stores and refused to work further


I am saying aby storage of tomatoes, vegetables, pepper for long term is a disadvantage.

Oga, read to learn and understand. Food has different types and are stored in different ways especially as you claim you want to store some yourself for more than 6 months at a time

Fruits and vegetables are not to be stored frozen for extended periods of time because they will get bad no matter what.

That is because the time it takes for the nutriotional contents to dissolve is different from one food to another. For tomatoes, it is extremely short, same for all vegetables. I am a believer in food storage, but excessive food storage that preserves the food nutients is one that must be studied before applying. Example preserving tomatoes by grinding and places like sesame oil over it preserves as much of its butrients as possible.


I am never against the concept of food storage but embracing the concepts as you are brandisging it is nothing but lack of education. The money you are trying to save is far more thab the equvalent of buying it regularly at the peak quality form.



Whether you buy in bulk or not thats your headache. I cant remember the year i bought in bits either. But buying tonatoes to store for a years use is simply pure lack of education

Good move! You should consider processing them as prolong freezing may not get the job done. The day power would be out, the succulent tomatoes would turn flaccid.

Tomatoes wont retain up to 70% its nutritional value of long period. Also, whatever means is used to preserve the tomato to retain the nutrients hoghly over a prolonged period is the financial amounts saved from getting it freshed. The best way to preserve tomatoes over a long time is using oil to cover it completely. And it would require changing from time to time over prolonged time. While these methods are effective, they are best in preparation against food scarcity during wars where necessity is on the front burner


Six plots of tomatoes can feed a family os six consistently every three months. The best way to preserve and manage cheap price is to produce.

And if we out of fear begin to preserve all foods, would he also buy and preserve onions, pepper, yams. Etc
