Do you know what it is to spend 1b dollars and still look shyte? Not over 5 to 10 yrs o. 1b in 1 year.

Even Emzor.

You have an unproven Jackson as striker, and Emzor in midfield, then you go for Conceedo in the same midfield. Then you add Lavia in the same midfield. While you are doing all these you buy Lesley Ugochukwu in the same midfield. Meanwhile you are spending more money to buy rated youngsters like Santos and Casadei. In the same midfield. Then you have local hero and Chelshit legend Conor Gragra playing in the same midfield.
All the while you have Jackson as your first-choice striker.

Boehly is Glazers on steroids. grin
It gladdens my heart.

Boehly and his consortium should be investigated for money laundering and financing terrorism
Those deals are not normal
Even the way the contracts are structured

A few lunges again. But no consequences, so all good.

Hope he regains his legs better against Aston Villa. He's going to need it.

Garnacho needs some time out abeg. He's started 15-17 consecutive games. Boy should rest a bit.

Na so so overuse cause Martinez injury last season.

The legs are gone so the lunges will continue. Kobbie playing a bit deeper meant there was less open space for West Ham’s players to run into around him, and that kept the lunges to a minimum.

He was however generally good with the ball and nipped several West Ham moves in the bud.

If Boehly had gotten it right, then Chelsea would have been a big problem for the league. 1bn no be beans...

Meanwhile, we need to beat Aston Villa if we want to stand a chance of finishing top 4...The likes of Newcastle and Spurs are inconsistent and Aston Villa will most likely falter at some point so, it is all in our hands if we want to finish top 4...

I responded to this - you can go through my posts again

Splashing a substantial part of our budget on an "Orthodox winger" with poor output ?The sense is still not sensing

The facts are there for all to see - Anthony has always been an unproductive player even since his days at Ajax yet our ikorodu Pep felt he was the solution to our problems on the wing and went ahead to approve 100m for "dance steps"

ETH is worse than the Biblical prodigal son grin

Oga - the crux of the matter here na ETH's cluelessness in the TF market - we weren't on about his hopeless tactics/poor game management and general uselessness as our manager
Lmao seems you'll never get it.

When we went for Hojlund, we didn't get a prolific striker that was banging in goals. We went for a player that we thought had the raw qualities and hoped he'd make the next step.

Same thing we did with Antony. He was an 'Orthodox winger' but we hoped he'd make the next step. Arsenal that's well run these days were about to splash 100m on a Mudryk with 5 goals or something in Ukraine.

Not every youngster is an Haaland or Mbappe.

Like how can you not get this? You're only saying all these shit based on the fact we now know Antony is a bum.

Oga

Every man and his dog knew that we urgently had to fill in 2 positions during the summer - WF and CF.

Are you telling me ETH spent a whopping 180m on players that "we hoped to make the next step" ..even when quality was clearly needed at the aforementioned positions if we were to move to the next level?

Who spends such an amount on players "in a hope to take the next step" when you clearly need quality additions to the team?

What's my business with what Arsenal almost did?

Do you even read some of these things you type?

"Take the next step" and boom - 180m out of a 400m don go be that?

You are making it worse, honestly grin

Poch is like Rodgers, in a low-pressure environment they do well but when there's pressure and the expectations are high, they falter...

It's ETH that's the surprise for me, I always thought he was a disciplinarian and a coach that would have us playing high-octane football but I was wrong. Our players still do not cover a lot of distance and our game player has not improved as one would have thought.

Can you please name one right winger that was available then that was already well established and would slot in perfectly into the role at United?

You just carry phone dey type whatever. You're basically saying what we needed was an established player not one trying to make the next step. This is absolutely silly talk.

As for your last paragraph, it's very easy to say all these now when the guy's been poor at United. I'd even take you more seriously if you said any of this sh*t when we were linked to him.

Give Poch a club with money and he will perform better than Pep

Now 2 clubs after with money na story we dey hear

Everyone thinks coaching is all about just giving coaches money, now dem don give am

The senselessness here is you advocating for the club to spend 50% of it's budget on 2 "upcoming" players that are still in basic developmental stage...

Implying that the club could as well have paid 2billion for Anthony because "we were neck deep into the deal already" also shows an extremely poor level of reasoning

🀣When you keep arguing just to have the last say, you tend to draw senseless summaries of everything said, repeat previous statements like they weren't countered in the past.

I don't think a single person here has said Antony was worth the amount he was bought for. No one's advocating spending that type of money on even established players.

All anyone has done here is add context to how the deal came into fruition. When some of you argue on this thread, you intentionally get stuck on one thinking. Everything's not black and white. We've all discussed this on previous pages.

But you'll still quote me and summarize everything I've said as advocating for spending 100m on up and coming players. When we've literally discussed on and on as to how the whole deal evolved. It's tiring tbh

All of these shalaye is because you want the manager out. Antony's deal must fully be put on ETH for agenda. It's like compiling a list of fvckups. Funny thing is years after the manager gets sacked, the fvckup list gets revised. The list was much longer during Mourinho's time. But that fvckup list has been totally revised. Can't even remember a lot of his messups anymore.

At this point some of you just get tired of seeing the same face week in week out and want the new excitement of a new manager.

If they told you ETH will win the league in 2 years OR we can bring in a new manager and he'll win in the same number of years. Y'all will go with the latter.

Brought in two replies to different questions asked and phrased it like it's excuses to the same question. πŸ˜‚ That's how y'all move here.

Why did we end up paying that much? Even a total dullard without agenda will understand it's because we negotiated so late into the window without a viable option available.

The other one about taking the next step is a reply to questions about why we went for someone that's not even pulling trees in terms of stats.

No amount of senselessness would justify Anthony's signing - it remains an idiotic move by your idiotic god and no amount of idiotic statements would change that fact grin

He was obviously already injured and should not have been allowed to return to the pitch. I won't be surprised if it is an MCL injury. He might have worsened the injury and lengthened his time out just with the few minutes he spent back on the pitch. This is the 3rd time they are allowing the guy's bravely to override their own clinical judgment.

Just as i suspected Martinez is out for 2 months with an MCL injury.

I maintain that those physios were incompetent and ETH himself wasn’t smart. A player like Martinez has to be saved from himself sometimes.
