no opponents shouldn’t be mistaken to be weak in this stage of the competition, doing such is way too risky.

The team has a formulae that hv worked out for them from the second game in the group stage so why change it?

I will only consider iheanacho if the team is losing, if I happen to be jpes I will revert to a back 4 taking zaidu off and bring in nacho to pair with Moffi up front if osimhen is unavailable

Off the ball iheanacho is a liability and such will dismantle jpes plans/structure that he has built with his starting 11

Did you see where you used your second paragraph to contradict the first? Is reverting to a back 4 not changing the winning formulae?

Now answer this; when was the first time Jpez experimented this particular winning formula? Who were the players that executed it that day and what was the score line like? And which players had the best ratings that day?

reverting to a back 4 when the team is chasing a game

In such situation a player like nacho is needed for his creativity and goal scoring ability

The first time jpes experimented or I will say deployed his current formation was against CIV and it worked out perfectly well. If there is any match he first tried it I don’t knw

If Osimhen isn’t healthy enough to start, then move Lookman to the CF position, play SiMoses from the left and Iheanacho from the the right.

Lookman makes good runs as an outright striker and Iheanacho can always find him with those passes.
we can still play Iheanacho as the top 9 then flank him by Simon and Lookman, abi wetin you feel☺️

I disagree the little I've seen of Moffi he has trickery, skill and yet still strong not too fast but fast enough. He will be an unknown quantity.

Right now everyone knows VO and how he plays and over prepare for him . I think with Moffi they will be a bit confused 😕 as to how to deal with he has the element of Surprise I also expect him to be HIGHLY MOTIVATED.

I don't by any stretch of the imagination think he is better than VO but he is unpredictably different. That might work to our advantage.

At this stage of the tournament you wan still do experiment.Nawaa oo.

Oga u no get time to dig post why u come dey talk wetin u no see for this thread? No be lie be that?

I no feel any kind of way about “I told you so”, because I make my positions clear with points.

Mujtahida:

Go jare, see as you dey talk like woman. Dig your post? Say you be who and to prove what? Have you ever seen me dig any body's post on this forum? If I was wrong in what I said, you point it out. Simple. No need for this crassness about lies like I tell lies about you on a regular basis. The 'I told you so' thing cut you. Sorry. No vex.

It's best I end this conversation here cos I tried making you see with the emoji in my last post that this is lighthearted talk but the thing wey dey chook you pass this football yarn. So continue with your saltiness. Cheers

It would be a mistake for SE to get sucked into desperation to see the game not drag to penalties cos of the exploits in the SA keeper.

The best thing is to try and see that we wrap things up in 90 minutes but if it stretches beyond that, fine. No need to be desperate because we are afraid of their Gk.

Their Gk too has his weaknesses. Study it and exploit it if it comes down to penalties. In that way we too are prepared.

When the bird learns to fly without perching, the hunter learns to shoot without aiming.

Cunny man die, Cunny man bury am.

Thank you o, I thought am the only one thinking this way. Penalty shoot-outs are part of the game if you can't score in regulation time. The best approach is to prepare for all situations and scenarios. All this talk of taking chances is all assumptions, what if the keeper keeps saving all your efforts in regulation time, won't you fight till the very end? Looking at Cape Verde, it's obvious they didn't prepare enough for penalties while SA prepared totally. From the knock-out stage, teams are expected to prepare totally for all scenarios, we have even seen teams missing penalties given in regulation time which still reflects preparedness. Imagine Ekong missed the penalty against CIV, no be abuse we go abuse am? We got to be ready for all scenarios jare

KC I feel should not be in the team he's not match fit and is not in form. But Moffi is the unknown quantity waiting to prove many of you wrong.

If Moffi starts he should score two at least.
Please football doesn't work like that.

At this stage of the tournament, no one tries to experiment. You should know this better than anyone else.

Who told you Onyeka is not a DM please? That is his primary position. He is just like Kante. DMs like them like to roam rather than stay rigid and hold position in the midfield.

To your last question, Yusuf doesn't have that physical presence to play as a DM. His height is another issue too.
95% of Onyeka's game for Brentford has been as a CM/box 2 box midfielder. He even has assists and goals in that role. You can use sofascore.

Yusuf can also fit in as a DM.

Our current mid-field set-up requires one CM/DLP and one box 2 box midfielder/CM or rather 2 CMs.

This is why Raph Onyedika couldn't come on against Angola. Yusuf who is a box 2 box midfielder replaced Iwobi and Aribo another box 2 box midfielder replaced Frank Onyeka.

Chukwueze: There is nothing special about Williams, we will beat Bafana in 90 minutes

Nigeria and AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze is confident that they will beat Bafana Bafana without going into penalties and has played down the notion that Ronwen Williams is a penalty-saving specialist.

"Penalty is a game of luck, anybody can miss. It's the one he saw that he saved," Chukwueze said.

"I'm not saying he's not a good goalkeeper, actually a good goalkeeper, but the most important thing is for us to win in 90 minutes or 120 minutes. We will win without going into penalties.

"It's not about being scared, it's about being on a safer side at the moment. We have been watching their clips, they are good on their own day but we'll try our best and win."

We have had many diminutive DMFs in the past.

Two MOTM already proved that Simon is our best so far, before Angola match I rated Aina and Lookman over him but against Angola,Simon was a beast.

After drawing our first match, we’ve won every other match. No extra time, no PK. And now the semi finals, you guys are clamoring for a change of style. Let’s bench this and that, let’s try something different, the defenders now understand his style 🤣🤣🤣Thank God no be una be coach.

Have you ever asked why your preferred player has not seen one minute in this tournament? Even if Osimhen is tired the coach always bring on Onuachu. Abi you want to tell us you are the one training them and know them better than the coaches?

This is the semi finals, not a dead rubber game or the last match after we’ve qualified. Make una die this agenda!!!

After watching the game, I discovered Neco Williams weakness. He saved all ground PKs, but couldn't save the one that ended at the top right corner.

Let's not give him ground shots tomorrow.

Go Super Eagles!!!

Afcon is such a spetacular tournament you will almost forget about the AFC(Asian cup) ongoing.

Semi finalist 1.

Jordan vs Rep of Korea ( Son, Hwang hee chan, Kim min jae)
2nd meeting in this tourney after a 2-2 in the group stage. Korea is being managed by Jurgen Klinsmann. Also this is Jordan first ever semi final appearance. Match ongoing 0-0.

Semi final 2.

Iran vs Qatar

Iran is the current Favorite for the cup. heard this is the last chance for their ageing golden generation to lift the cup since 76' or so.
Qatar home nation.
