For those currently residing in Canada, I'm curious to hear about your experiences. Please share your thoughts.
Was is not 2 days ago that 2 policemen came to my apartment 🏠 asking who called 911?, I said I didn't call 911.said someone called 911 and hang up..and said are you sure one your children didn't call 911..I said no I don't have land phone!!
Police:Asking where is your wife?I said wife went to school... police asked again are you sure your wife didn't call 911..that I should call her..
I called my wife put the phone on speaker so police can hear the conversation..I asked her? did you call 911, she said no..
I Asked the police how did you know that someone called 911 they said, they used GPRS..I said to police from my address, they said yes GPRS..
Police :said can I see some ID, I went to bring identification, police looking around and in the laundry room saying: are you the only one living here..and I said no this baby and the other baby sitting on chair watching cartoons..
Gave police my ID, they call their office mentioning my name ,Gender and date of birth and left...I am sure they must have used opportunity to confirm my immigration status..
Last time I called 911 was when wife was in labor ..later paid $250 for the services thumbs up to the Emergency response Unit..

End of story

Good morning house.
For those that submitted SOWP when their spouse is still in Nigeria and was approved. Kindly highlight how you applied.

Hi, are you currently applying for SOWP? I'm currently having issues downloading and uploading the forms from on the portal. Did you experience this?

Thanks

No, I didn’t experience any of those errors. Everything was fine while uploading. How did you fill the PDF? via adobe?

Every bullets revolves around funds. What you need to do check is you POF. Was it sufficient? How was it documented? Was it easy to understand? Was it properly explained in your SOP? Did you submitted convincing additional documents regarding the source of funds?

In that case, I think the issue is from SOP. I'm not sure if you explain in details. Below documents are what I think will work

For your Salary Account

6 months Bank Statement
Employment letter
Payslip
A reference letter from your employer (optional)

For your Spouse Account

If employed, same as above. If self employed, he need to show:

CAC certificate
Form Co2 (Board of Directors form)
Previous receipts of contract/job completed
Tax receipts
6 months or more Bank Statement of the business
Picture of your work in progress (optional)
Facebook/Instagram page of the business

Property Valuation
Comprehensive Report from registered survivor and valuer
Pictures of the properties
CofO or Survey Documents if it's landed property
Any other additional documents about the property

Ensure all documents are properly explained in your SOP by referencing them.

You can as well order your GCMS notes to know exact reason behind your refusal.

Thank so much for this information.

I think the best thing is to order a GCMS note first so you can address the main reason for refusal. Everyone here is just assuming.

Goodday Chiefs.
Looking to do a masters but I don’t know if Criminology & Security Studies is a good course that’ll present employment opportunities in Canada?
Or I should just go to college and get something that has leverage.

Since you received an email from IOM, that's a confirmation that they've sent it. In my case, what I did was to send them an email asking them to confirm receipt of the medical assessment. It was confirmed same day on my portal that I passed.

There's no timeframe set for you to reapply. However, regarding this ongoing new rules, you might need attestation letter from the province you want to study before you can reapply unless you are a master or PhD student.

Kindly note that gcms notes takes about 30 days for you to receive it, but I strongly believe that improper documentation of your POF or SOP is the issue. In my case, I was rejected also for financial reason and I reapply after one week by writing another SOP tailored to address the refusal reason by telling the officer how I met the financial requirement. I also submitted additional documents (more sources of funds) to back up the claim. Although I later ordered the gcms note, and the concern of the officer was he didn't satisfy regarding the source of funds, limited evidence pertaining to the source of funds and how I accumulated my savings. With that, I had 80% confidence that I was going to be approved for my second application because of the additional documents submitted because I knew I have money and not because of insufficient funds why I was rejected.

Sometimes, since you don't know who will handle your application, it's recommended to write SOP of what a 5 year old boy will understand. Ensure you read and read over and over again. Ask for people's review and ask if they understand the SOP and if it's convincing enough. In addition, ensure you don't over compress your documents.

Order your GCMS notes as well.
