Tinubu doesn't have blind followers like buhari and obi. If he fails to perform, he won't get a quarter of the votes he got from SW. SW are not gonna support him just because he is theirs, this is know for sure. Still wondering how his supporters even sleep at night. We sane Nigerian already know what will be fall Nigeria Tinubu, Atiku or obi gets to power. 1 Like |

RepoMan007:You guys continuously underestimate the value of financial prudence in economic management. If you are right, Lamido Sanusi should have been the best CBN governor since oil price was highest during his tenure. But in real fact, the best CBN governors were the one in charge during the lowest average oil price of 1999 to 2007. That is Joseph Oladele and Charles Soludo. Joseph even managed to hit a 10% growth rate which is unmatched since then. Nigeria's FDI at 1999 was about $1 billion and it increased to $6 billion in 2007. If a 600% rise is not significant enough, you should remember that somebody actually took it from 4 billion dollars in 2015 to negative value by the end of 2022. Now, that's a record. Before you ask, my criteria for best is based on external reserve accumulation, exchange rate control and economic growth rate. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

What stops Tinubu from opening the country's borders for importing food such as rice, beans, etc. Open the borders for the next two years. Let plenty food come into the country. That resolves the hunger wahala. 1 Like |

Kukutenla:Everyone in Finance knows that Cardoso is not fit for the job, even if Tinubu wanted the job to go to an Omoluabi, there are sharper and smarter Omoluabis' in Finance and economic planning. Cardoso doesn't have the skills to navigate this murky waters that is why his only rhetoric has been "ensuring the core function of the CBN" yet, we have not seen any price stability. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ivolt: Being CBN governor at a time of rapidly increasing oil prices, which comes with increasing forex inflow, is different from being governor at a time of oil prices being stagnant or falling and your predecessor ran forex reserves low and printed naira to support government spending. It's an entirely different set of circumstances. Oil prices were lower during OBJ's era than now but that is irrelevant. What matters is that they were much higher, and rapidly increasing, compared to the preceding 2 decades. That's part of why things felt better for Nigerians. 1 Like |

We are telling them, they don't want to hear. They are deaf and dumb for now but just I have predicted if this hike, hunger and deprivation continues unabated for the next one month, the repercussion will be dangerous and unimagined. If you're Tinubu's supporters, keep your support at home for now and talk true to your master because if the revolution began because of hunger and poverty, you will not be able to contain it. Everywhere you go now, the hike is the talk in town. I saw two men walking on the road today and their lamentation is on this price hike and lack of money to meet daily needs. I pity any Tinubu's supporters this time around because your blind support won't save the day for you, better to face the reality and adjust thing. Reverse the policies and come to the draw-board. There's nothing wrong if a government own up to their responsibilities, it only shows sign of affection and genuineness. The two policies are not working president Tinubu and his supporters. |

Kukutenla: Buhari didn't actually push Nigeria to the wall as Tinubu has done so far. He met Petrol above official price of 87 Naira and unofficial price of 250 and left it at official price of 185 and unofficial price of average 200 Naira as at May last year. Tinubu in 1 week increased it officially from 185 to 400 and in 6 months increased it to 591 and unofficial average 700 Naira. Buhari managed Nigeria better than Tinubu in everything. 2 Likes |

Kukutenla: You must be daft to pour this emotional hatred against North. If we are hypocrite we would vote for Atiku but we rejected him for Tinubu. Remember, there was never Administration without history of corruption and policy setbacks but Jonathan inherited $34b foreign reserve from Yar'adua but at the end of his tenure he spent 5 months borrowing to pay Salaries and left degraded foreign reserve at $28b. When Buhari came in he improved the foreign reserve and left it at $34b, we are no longer borrowing to pay Salaries irrespective of the economic situation and the Administration was affected by 2 recessions which were eminent as Ngozi was quoted to have been warning Jonathan and later affected by COVID-19. Buhari had a well balanced administration with South West topping his Appointments With 33.7%. This Survival Fund has provided grants (Payroll Support, Artisan and Transport Sector grants, and General MSME grants) to more than 1.2 million beneficiaries, since the last quarter of 2020. It has also provided free business registration to 250,000 MSMEs across the country. Concerning loans, for the first time in our return to democracy we have seen loans that are abt 70-80% projects partnerships instead of fraudulent cash borrowings. Bad loans are loans borrowed to fund recurrent expenditure while Buhari's loans are mostly funding capital expenditure which has short, middle and long term profits benefits. For instance: 1. AKK-Pipeline, transporting gas from Delta state to Kano which is now visibly at around 70% completion cost $2.1b and will help revive our moribund industries with estimated capacity of 13000MW energy demands in Abuja, Ajaokuta, Kaduna and Kano axis. 2. Abuja-Kaduna Rail line cost $973m and from recent report there is more than ₦500m revenue monthly from the e-ticketing only in that axis. So far we paid back more than $260m as far as 2021 report for this project 3. Lagos-Ibadan railway cost $1.6b and still fetches N5b revenue annually by average 4. Warri-Itakp rail cost $3.9b and right now brings N6b annually in revenue before e-ticketing which will defined triple the income 5. NLG Train 7 Gas cost $7b and is expected to bring billion dollars profits in oil and gas sector 6. Recently 700MW Hydro power plants is completed and cost $1.2b 7. Buhari procured 38 brand fighter jets including 12 A29 Super Tucano which cost more than $600m in 8yrs, before his administration he had only 24 fighter jets throughout our history. 8. He procured more than 200 warships and patrol boats for Navy 9. 2nd Niger bridge cost more than N406.2b 10. Procured many infantry vehicles, self propelled Howitzers, ARRV and mine sweepers, SH2 & SH5 Artillery platforms, VT-4 main battle tanks, armoured fighting vehicles, MRAPs, ST Light tanks and mountain climber bikes among billion dollars annual budget for arms and 4 operations going on across the Nation due to persistent insecurity. FG in 8yrs is building more than 9km roads across the Nation which mostly is SUKUK funded. So, it is clear that ours isn't a bad debt because if u don't have money u have to borrow to fund infrastructure deficit. The biggest problem with his administration is their inability to mitigate corruption especially in CBN which led to outrageous FOREX disparity, they increased unnecessary VAT from 4.5% to 7.5% which consequently lead to inflation and their insensitivity to the sufferings of masses along many others. Nigeria has never planned for prosperity well and our retuy to democy under Obasanjo was a perfect time for all the ongoing policies immediately after sanctions were relieved on us because of Military regime. You can't just use politicking as an excuse to stereotype the whole Northern region! 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Kenochi: There are deep reason which you fails to mention. Have you gone to ask how much a truck of farm produce pay from benue to lagos on the road? If you know this staggering amount of illegal extortion going on, you would know why food prices will never come down. Apart from the brides and extortion driver paid, immediately their truck pass through lagos berger, massive extortion begins by security forces, agbero, area boys and name it. Another major factor of these food prices increment is because of insecurity caused by killer bandits who destroyed farmers lands and also kidnapp and take over farm lands of farmers host communities. It's been a long problem farmers had been facing and it's now we are facing 3 Likes |

Everydaylove: This is one of the things that annoys me with the Tinubu fan club who place blame on Buhari for today's situation. Without Tinubu's staunch support for the 8 years of Buhari's regime and before, Buhari would not have wreaked the havoc he did. To now suggest that he should be given more time to clean up Buhari's mess beggars belief. He traded his countrymen's well being, literally their lives, for his own personal ambition to be president. One cannot separate today's circumstances from the people who facilitated it. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Racoon:Without first building an efficient, government-subsidized public transportation infrastructure within cities and towns and between cities, towns and states, removing petrol subsidies will always result in the kind of mass affliction that Nigerians are going through now. ~~~~~ CNG would lower the cost of haulage and public transportation to below the cost of transportation before the petroleum subsidy removal. CNG is way cheaper than diesel or petrol! Therefore, fitting existing large buses and trucks with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) kits within one month for instance would lower the cost of food, and food haulage from the North to the South and vice versa. Second, price control measures have to be introduced immediately with special hotlines in each state of Nigeria to report anybody that tries to hoard food items in warehouses, and have them punished after trial in a court of law. This is not rocket science. Third, illegal check points, used for extorting trailer and truck drivers must be removed from the roads immediately. Dedicated phone lines can be set up to report with iron-clad evidence the locations of all illegal checkpoints. These things should have been done by all the Federal and State governments in Nigeria across party lines. |

Tinubu and his mediocre political appointees are only concerned about how rich they could be before the next political dispensation. All these economic grammars are strange to them.. If the country Nigeria continues in the hands of these people for the next four years, we may end up fighting a needless but inevitable war. Rebellion may broke out. 1 Like |
