Ademola Lookman announced his nationality switch from England to Nigeria on the 11th of February 2022, he'll be celebrating his two (2) years anniversary as a Nigerian player on the AFCON final day. (11th February 2024)

What a time it is

Your wrong .

Actually Ademola tried to play for the U17 Eaglets him alongside Oviemuno Ejaria. Both were not selected somehow.

It took less than 6 weeks for Zaha to get clearance from FIFA to play for CIV.

DRC's last two matches is leading me to believe that they were bought. How can a team humanely blow all those chances? It's mind boggling.

Funny enough, that guy in the middle initially picked Cote D'Voire in a previous show, and he was honest that it was because he wanted some sort of revenge. I was surprised to see him change his mind.

Either way, they'll watch us lift that trophy today.

Tomorrow any team can win. But when it comes to this question you need to be objective. Look at it both ways.

Modified
If Nigeria were in their shoes. Having lost the first game by a slim margin, in front of our fans and have had a fairytale run so far with revenge now in our minds. Will we really be under pressure?

yes we will, serious pressure sef

Thats the point. Our players need all the motivation like they never met CIV before. A team that lost scandalously to EG 4-0. Chamged rheir coach and have managed to pull through to the finals in front of their home fans each game, have only one thing in their minds which is revenge. They are not under pressure to win the trophy because all hope seemed lost at a point. They are determined to beat us, and if they do, the trophy will just be an icing on the cake.

I repeat, what we need right now is the right minds around the players talking the right talk, not politicians which could be counter productive .

they are under pressure to win it in front of their fans, I’m sure if it was the other way round you’ll agree Nigeria is under pressure to win in front of the fans

Do you think aribo should / “merits” to be in the team?

A month ago on this forum, the funeral of the super eagles was been planned when the Super Eagles was very much alive. Some Monikers on here had already started selling Asoebi, some had hired the band that will play at the funeral, some had hired cooks for the occasion and casket had been bought. Fast forward to one month later… the Super Eagles are not only alive but actually thriving. The same folks who were planning the funeral are now the most vocal ones giving advice on how the Super Eagles should set up and play.
There are very few who believed they would get to this stage. I wish us all the best in our Final match to day.

Abeg, let’s be very very serious. The pressure is on CIV to win tomorrow. End of story.

After the fairy tale run they’ve had AND being the host country, the pressure is on them to deliver. They are riding on a serious high right now and are the favorites for this match, which I think works in Naija’s favor tbh. We’ve done well by flying under the radar and progressing steadily in this tourney.

It's a sad tale for Congo; too many missed chances. This match just showed the importance of scoring your chances.

Gbam! I’ve said it before. SE have created enough chances to win every game by at least 2 comfortable goals but we’ve been profligate.

That SA match should never have gone to PKs. That Lookman chance around the 80’ would have sealed the game easily.

We MUST take our chances.

A very poor team from the start of the tournament. The only game they won in regulation time was against Guinea from the seven matches played, even South Africa only won 2 from the seven in regulation time.

zero reason not to be confident. The pain will hit the same if we lose when feigning neutral/cautious so why not go all the way?

I agree with you cos fairy tales and home support do not win tournaments, the last time Brazil hosted the World Cup they could not win, they even trounced 7-1 by the eventual winners Germany in the semi-final. Brazil was simply never good enough.

A team that lost two straight matches after their first game simply means they are not good enough either, people are just being emotional tipping CIV as winners and I understand with all the bad belle all over Africa, if players like drogba, yaya toure and the former big stars were in the team I for understand but this current team? haba it will be a disservice to Afcon if they win cos they were simply one of the weakest teams in the tournament. I like the way people are helping them to overhype themselves cos it will play favourably into our hands.

The Ivorians will make a lot of mistakes today, but they'll also try to make our players commit unnecessary fouls and get red carded.

Let's not forget that this is Africa, and we're playing against the hosts, so it's safe to assume that tonight's officials will be against us, especially V.A.R.

We'll have a lot of chances when we counter attack. If we score those chances, we're definitely winning tonight.

HEAR ME OUT.. Let's experiment playing Kelechi in Iwobi's position in a not so important match.. Afterall Iwobi's work rate in the midfield is non existent and kelechi is creative and incisive with his passes.

they will just spoil the game then and prove Gary Neville wrong who feels the standard of officiating has been the best.
