Good luck Super Eagles. They should be wary of Fofana's long range shots

Since that penalty miss, Aina has been so withdrawn. I just hope that didn’t affect him psychologically to the extent of making mistakes today trying to be too careful. He should free his mind and be his usual self in order to give us his best.

I like that boy so much I will love to see AFCON gold medal around his neck today.
How has he been withdrawn though?

no worries

We now have a better shot stopper (NWANBALI) not that basket of a keeper (UZOHO)

We have our eyes on the trophy and that is the priority. Glove is an individual award, and would only be a plus.

The major topic remains the trophy. No distractions because history remembers only the trophy winners 99.9% of the time, not glove or highest goal scorers.

And what happened to Bright Osayi who puts in a yeomans job against South Africa? I hope Osayi starts today, Sanusi Zaidu has been piss poor throughout this tournament.

But I won’t be surprised if some people leans heavily on the coach to play Zaidu. Nigeria is a joke of a country.

I will be sincere here.

Winning today's game will be tough or near impossible!

Our first 11 players are obviously fatigued.

Ivory Coast best forwards are fresher than our defense, and their defense fresher than our attack.

Paserio have to trust our bench for us to win this game.

Moffi, Nacho, Oyedika etc must come on early if the game is not going our way.

Paserio must be bold to bring in fresh legs.
Our victory lies on how well Paserio utilizes our bench and the selflessness of our players (passing to players in better position rather than going alone)!

I am telling you again, this match will leave you on the edge. If you have heart or anxiety issues, please don't watch.

If Super Eagles win today...

God bless Nigeria!

Ivory Coast played penalties and a full extra time in the knockout stages. We only played extra time once. They are actually much more fatigued than us.

Gbam! I’ve said it before. SE have created enough chances to win every game by at least 2 comfortable goals but we’ve been profligate.

That SA match should never have gone to PKs. That Lookman chance around the 80’ would have sealed the game easily.

We MUST take our chances.

Most of you only focus on Lookman's chance but refused to acknowledge Osimhen missed chances afterwards.
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by M7even(m): 5:30pm On Feb 11
This was last year when I supported Pesiero to lead us

M7even:

In all sincerity I believe in Pesiero, I believe we stand a better chance with him leading us to the AFCON at least a semi-final spot is realizable. I'm rather happier we are not going into the tournament with self-overconfidence.

I had the same feeling of patience with the Super Falcons coach prior to their outstanding world cup campaign. The team will gel.. Even keshi's AFCON team did not gel until the do or die game we had against Ivory Coast. Luckily the Ivorian also had a poor goalkeeper in Barry. When u watch the goals he conceded against Nigeria in the quarter finals, if Uzoho conceded such we would have called for his head. So, I say every team is coming to win. And it is the team that just finds the blend that wins. Senegal at the last AFCON struggled throughout the group stage but won albeit via penalty kicks against Egypt we beat in our opening match. We are playing well, we are not just converting chances. And I say that with our attackers hitting the right tournament fever just like Odion Ighalo in 2019 we are on course for a good tournament.

Lookman’s chance was far more clear cut. Osimhen missed headers, yes, but it wasn’t as clear cut a chance.

No, it makes more sense to put in Sanusi. He’s defensively better than Osayi and Sanusi is a natural left footer so he’ll cover the LWB position better than a right footed player.

Not everything is tribalism.
