Why was Mecca chosen if not that is it simply because it is the birthplace of Muhammad. So to become a perfect Muslim, you have to visit Muhammad's birthplace. How does that not sound like colonialism. It is just like to be a Briton, you have to visit England, the King's land. What's the difference?
