This is confusing, anyone know why some people can order from Lagos while others are being told the capacity is temporarily full in Lagos and stuck in pre order stage?

Dependent on location within Lagos.

Like the poster above said, it depends on the location. Most of Lagos metropolis have reached capacity.

Go through the Starlink map for more clarity.

Well this could be tied to specific locations, let's say Ajegunle for example is clustered, I don't think Ajah would be suffering the same fate.

iamphilips:
100units of Brand New Starlink kit available
(No Account)
Price: 900k each
Discount for bulk purchase
Pickup location: Ikeja Computer Village
Is this profit or greed?
I blame people who are too lazy to do basic things for themselves. And I wonder the kind sweet talking you had to do to convince anyone to spend 500k more on a kit they can get by themselves.

You remind me of the dude I called to mount my dish and he wanted to use big words to confuse me. "Dude i just wan mount my dish for roof naa. I can do the rest by myself. Wetin be all these big big grammar?"

Tomorrow we blame Tinubu but you my friend are one of the problems we have in this country.
Ethics dey your business so?

Profit motive is good when it operates within moralistic boundaries. Take away those boundaries and the motive becomes greed.
Many Nigerians don't know this..

It's even crazier when you know that these thieves selling the kit at 900k probaby manage the accounts of some of their naive customers who don't even know starlink has an app, and bill them like crazy. I mean, anyone foolish enough to spend 500k extra on a kit has an empty brain.
Well, to each their own.

So, I have been using Starlink since February last year, and it was excellent. I use to get speeds up to 300Mbps+. After moving to a new location, I observed that my speed really tanked. In fact, I have not seen 200Mbps. Initially, I thought my dishy or cable was faulty, so I asked Starlink support to carry out checks on my kits for confirmation. Starlink support reverted back to me after thorough checks(according to them), informing me that my dishy and cable are in excellent conditions, however, I am experiencing extremely high level interferance. They then asked me to capture my installation and my immediate surrounding. I did as advised.

The thing is, I live directly under a large mast/base station. According to Starlink, the base station is the culprit, and there's little to nothing I can do to improve Starlink service. Though I could try to move the dishy around my roof, but given the proximity, it would probably not change anything.

This is for your information only. In case anyone is experiencing similar challenges.

What is the current speed you are getting. Starlink speed dropped globally because most satellites are now at full capacity(They now have millions of customers as opposed to when they first launched). Which is why they have been relentlessly launching satellites to space back to back. I was getting 250Mbps February last year when I first got the it, then it dropped to 50Mbps for some months, now it is up to 120Mbps. So far, your dish is not blocked by any obstacle or tree and you have clear line of sight, the large mast base station around you does not affect you. This is a satellite technology. It is not a Wifi/LTE technology. Starlink speed dropped globally but has been going back up. 120Mbps is still crazy fast for me

The emboldened statement is funny to me. Kindly read my initial comment again. You can't possibly know better than Starlink's technical support who checked on their system and informed me that I am experiencing high level interferance.

It's funny how you can make bold claim of something you know nothing about. One would think you work for Starlink or you helped in designing the Starlink system itself. Kindly refrain from making blanket statements on things you have zero direct knowledge of. No offense meant, by the way.

Like I said earlier, I am simply passing information.

Funny.

Carry your dish to a house close to a cell tower and run tests for science before you conclude.
I believe the interference is due to the band used by Starlink conflicting with the one used by the cell tower. Remember there are devices that interfere with the 2.4ghz band in your house. That microwave in your kitchen for example.

That isnt what he is saying. He is saying his dish, not his router, is getting interference from nearby mast. If his claim was that his router is getting interference, that is still in line with how interference works… But saying a LTE mast is interfering with how your dish is communicating with satellites that are 550km above ground level is absurd. As a matter of fact, there are many questions like this on Reddit with users asking if nearby mast can degrade their service.

But if he insists his dish’s communincation to satellites is being interefered by nearby masts, then so be it.

Chief na the same mentality with Nigerians, them no wan follow due process. If I tell people I registered and got my IP from immigration without any human connection they find it hard to believe. I go their website follow instructions and information from the NL thread, under 60 days I got my 10yr PP at the actual official price.

The whole of Lagos has reached capacity. I am sure he ordered for the regional roaming plan. I am also on the queue for the residential plan but ordered for the roam (for now). Before you ask, ALAT Mastercard

Hi, did you order while it was showing that message about capacity being reached in your area ?

is your location Lagos ?
I want to make an order for mine, I don’t know if it’s okay to go ahead.

Also, which card did you use please?

Apparently @QuoteJust1nce made me notice I was on the mobile roam I didn't notice, I never asked for this plan but since it's the available I'll probably migrate to the standard plan when it's available in lagos, although this wasn't the plan but instead of waiting I'll just run on this. I just gtb card but now sef I no fit pay for the subscription with the same card.

For better speed accuracy, use Speedtest.net app or website. You may also use fast.com.

I hope you have splitted the Wifi channels, that is 5Ghz and 2.4Gh.

Hi. Please What do you mean you’re on queue for residential plan ?

Are you going to get another dish to switch plan ?

And how do you specify which plan you want while ordering ?

Abeg no vex for my plenty question, I want to get starlink too. But I’m not sure what’s going on.

It means that a location is at capacity (filled up) and no more space for new users. So you gotta pay a deposit 32k and a spot is reserved for you. When somebody leaves that location; or more satellites are deployed; they will start adding people from the waiting list (queue). Unfortunately, you're not given a number; so you never know when it's gonna be your turn. It could be some months or years; nobody knows.

Yeah I will switch plan without buying a new dish. One the homepage, you can either choose Roam or Residential
