Why won't he feel like that when the west is acting confused.
He first took parts of Georgia. The EU made some noise and that's was it
Then he moved to Crimea and annexed it..... Still the response from the west was feeble.
Then he made the big bold move for Ukraine and that was when the west woke up but it was already too late.... Putin read them like a book and knew if he somehow manage to prolong the war....the support for Ukraine will eventually dry up (as we are seeing already) and he will finally be able to annex the Donbas region and the message would have been sent and understood that Russian will not allow NATO footings too close
