Same principle but you can always identify theft!

Everyone see it when China copies and why they always struggling to modify or compete.

After stealing across all boards, where have they stood strong? Aviation, Automobile, Medicine or space technology.

They cannot go past their level cos they always imitate.

The technological ideology of Toyota and Mercedes are far different. Airbus and Boeing have unique features that makes them competitive. Apple and Windows are world apart and staying competitive.

With all that China has copied, where has it been competitive on world stage.

You have a very big problem of understanding sir and you just want to argue blindly.
Toyota produce car, Geely produce car same principle but Toyota will use quality materials while Geely will not. That is what makes the difference.
To ask where China is in the world today shows you are not informed. A country that is one of the biggest economies in the world.
I won't go further with you because it seems you are living in another planet. You need to educate yourself....Have a nice day.

'SHARP' MEANS 'THUMBS UP' IN SOUTH AFRICA

Social media is abuzz after some people found it weird that just opposite the popular retailer Shoprite on Robert Sobukwe street in Sunnyside, Pretoria, there is a store named Sharprite.

While some see it as “pushing your luck” due to the familiarity, some think the competition between Shoprite and Sharprite is welcomed.

TimesLIVE visited both supermarkets on Wednesday.

As one stands outside the door of Sharprite and looks on the “sharp right” turn, opposite the street you find Shoprite.

Inside Sharprite, the store boasts about eight aisles stocked with everything from sugar, bedding essentials to water taps. But what sets the store apart from Shoprite is that many of their products are offered in bulk.

Sharprite also has no fridges in store so there are no refrigerated items in stock.

During TimesLIVE’s visit to the store, a man who wanted to buy a cold drink turned back empty-handed after inquiring about the fridge aisle for the drinks and he was told there are no fridges there.

Besides sounding similar, there are other similarities between the two shops. Both have their names written in bold red, Shoprite has a white outline to its text. Sharprite also has a big yellow smiling emoji in front, displaying a ‘sharp’ or thumbs-up gesture.

A bottle of 2l cooking oil at Sharprite starts from as little as R43.99 [vs R59.99 Ritebrand Sunflower Seed Oil 2L at Shoprite], while a carton of six milk 1lt boxes starts from as little as R89.99 [Ritebrand R98.99]. A 10kg bag of flour costs R127.99 at Sharprite, while similar flour of the same size costs a few cents more at Shoprite at R129.99.

While in the area, TimesLIVE noticed that a lot of the foot traffic is at the Shoprite as people buy daily essentials, including cold drinks and water. A few people also entered Sharprite to buy tools and other essentials.

While Shoprite, which is one of Africa’s leading brands is owned by South African, Christo Wiese, TimesLIVE understands that Sharprite is Chinese-owned.
The store has extended its reach from Pretoria and is also found in Middelburg, Mpumalanga province.

Sunny side in Pretoria is where I normally eat Nigeria food any time I enter SA.... sharprite should becareful of xenophobia attack.

Did I argue that with you? Or disagree with you on that?
I only said it is better to do that and develop than to remain backward. From there you started jumping to other issues. Bye sir.

Using your analogy; What happens when you tell the person who Jesus is and the persons disagrees with you and says you wrong.?
What will you do when he consistently and ignorantly disagrees with you over and over again?
Will you devote your lifetime trying to convince him?.. a lost course?
Nah, I'll still pass

Don't forget.... this is a discussion forum ... you both think you're right... stalemate... agree to disagree and move on.... really a lost cause trying to convince each other.

That is good....it will create jobs and boost the economy of south Africa....That is why the nigeria federal government should create a conducive environment for bussinesses to thrive and it will also attract foreign investors into the country nigeria

You are not even getting my point. Whether Geely and Toyota are the same, the fact remains that the same principle of car production were used for both, each company will now modify her own to taste. I bet you are not a science inclined.

I don't understand guys like you. This is a public forum ... open to discussion... if you disagree with someone's view ... you should say ... not send the person to do research.

@ topic ... I do agree with the point etrange made in that using a similar name can backfire on the company. I think exactly like that ...." the company is trying to deceive the public ... if they can do that with a name ... what else are they doing same to? I will not trust anything they sell as being what they say it is. Besides the naming part .... I believe they will soon carry the products Shop Rite sells but sell at a lower price to attract customers ... even if it means selling at or below cost. Over time they are likely to drive Shop Rite out of business. It is for the South Africans to be conscious that Shop Rite is theirs and supporting Shop Rite is supporting their own. I saw a video in this forum like two or three years ago where a Chinese man was saying Black people are stupid ... thatba Chinese man will set up Shop in the Black community and the Black residents will stop buying from the Black business and start buying from the Chinese ... driving their own out of business. I thought of it .... and thought there was a lot of truth in it... but shortly after.... I saw the exact thing happened around my way. Chinese opened a store right next door to the Black store .... sold at reduced price ... stocked everything the Black store had ... and the residents abandoned the long established family store driving it out of business. Now what? ... the competition has gone .... the Chinese have raised their prices above what the Black store previously sold at. Residents now have no choice but to pay.... no other such Black store anywhere nearby. I'm seeing the possibility of same happening with Sharp Rite and Shop Rite.

Made in China😁

Without the Chinese majority of Africans won't be able to afford many things .

You said, made in China,. Over 80% of things used in most homes in Nigeria are made in China.
They make low and high-quality graded products.....due to the extreme poverty in Africa, they chose the low graded products. Without the Chinese, majority of Nigerians won't be using mobile phones and other gadgets.
Even many European countries are not left out.

Not a single Nigerian business is able to outcompete SA businesses in Nigeria itself, your own country! All you do is wail about SA pricing all day. You can insert adjectives here (...) to describe your own underdeveloped and corrupt mentality.

Name one considerable Nigerian or African company in SA that would make SA "always angry at non-SA blacks".

Free lesson, all companies registered in SA are required by law to have a share of black ownership - it's called Black Economic Empowerment.

The above statement is the reason why South African blacks are tanking the SA economy. Why can't the Blacks build their own companies, the ANC has been in government for the best part of 30 years, yet they still persist with a corrupt policy that will enrich a lazy black elite.

First answer which Nigerian businesses can outcompete SA businesses after 60 years of black independence and massive oil wealth? 👎🏾🇳🇬😂

Go study the nature and monopoly of SA economy constructed by the Afrikaner Broederbond before stinking my mentions.

Thirty years of Black SA rule hasn't been anything to write home about; life is about challenges, and using White privilege as an excuse for black underperformance despite 30 years of black political power is unacceptable.

BTW, Nigeria's underperformance despite 60 years of independence is disappointing. Still, I will not take advice from black SA that has been offered the most advanced country in Africa, with a strong market of over a trillion dollars and still cannot get their act together despite 30 years of black majority rule.

I have been to South Africa severally.
South Africans don't hate Nigerians. They only hate those idiots who come to their country to commit crimes, like selling drugs, kidnapping , armed robbery, petty thieving, etc.

The same people go to Ghana And far East Asia to commit crimes.

We all know those who spoil Nigeria 's image abroad.

The way the media paints it like they South Africans just wake up and wanna purge.

One thing about competition is the opportunity to have choice from a range of selection....

And that is where grit meets strategy meets good leadership.

Clean business dealings..
