RayRay06677: FOR one that's still an MOU with the project yet to start. To get the place running there has to be facilities procurement which hasn't yet get underway and being a training facility, it may suffer the same faith others before it did due to poor management and improper maintenance devotion either from the government or the facility administration. The design is often viewed by the managers as just training facility aimed to bring forth modern farmers and not always treated as investment that's geared towards food sustainance and profit generation. Even if it's not generating profit, it should be able to run itself by the revenue the sales of the farm products but that's not often the case (as government was always still required to pump in more money after few years as exemplified by the ones previously started in NIGERIA)hence they went moribund. I expect serious farming system designed for sustainable food security and revenue generation from the governments/governors. |

'Ance4Liverpool: Very stupid idea, why not emulate obasanjo and build his type of farm in your state that will employ over 20k youths and equaly produce enough food for ur citizens instead of embarking on a foolish policy that will favor few of ur party members.' The Idiot with the above post supposed been Aborted from His Mum's Womb. He is not fit to co-habit with Living beings for putting up this foolish remark. I am sure he is one of the Unthinking Afonjas. |

This is commendable from Governor Umo Eno. Other states should emulate this approach, people are really going through tough times. Every elected officials should have interest of the masses at heart |

RayRay06677: I didn't even know they've started and that's great. But like I posted earlier, the result of the previous and similar project in other states hadn't been convincing enough for me to trust this investment. It ends up adding more burden to the purse of the state in a short while as it always find it difficult to sustain itself whatever the commitment of the state governor. Rivers, Lagos and a couple of northern states tried such in the past and the governments eventually had to hand off the projects because it usually takes more than it gives. Unfortunately, the motive of establishment is to give back to the society more than it takes from it. That's smart investment. Anyway, Enoh and Akwa Ibom are just starting, who says they can't succeed? Who says theirs won't become the model others would turn round to emulate. So, let's see how it ends but then, goodluck to them. |
