I carried title for head sey I be manager, with 60k salary. I approached the MD for a review. Her response...

"You should thank your stars you are being paid this much. Find out from your colleagues in other places how much they're being paid"

A week later, I resigned in the middle of a major project. I expected her to call me and do the review. Instead, she became bitchy, threatened me and my guarantor that I should return to work by force. I no gree for anybody and the project crashed afterwards. The sponsors retrieved their support.

I switched role, started afresh and to the glory of God, it's the best decision ever.

May the Almighty add money to this joy and fulfillment you feel. 🙏

I tell younger people around me that life isn’t all about money.
There’s this joy felt in doing what you love to do, that money can’t buy.
The money coming from it, whenever it eventually does, is like a bonus.

I decided to write Jamb again and I gained admission to study physics in Unilag.
Of a truth I am feeling fulfilled taking that decision, about to finish my masters in physics and PhD loading. Teaching may not be paying as we thought but the greater fulfilment I have now is worth more than money.
Please stay in a profession you find joy and fulfillment in, you can be making millions and hate going to work.
When you are in a wrong profession then you must hate Monday morning

Mine was studying a course I have never enjoyed for a day , I was studying civil engineering in Lagos State polytechnic and I struggled throughout my ND, it was at the point of entering HND when I personally and purposely spoke to my self and thank God my inner self listened. I decided to write Jamb again and I gained admission to study physics in Unilag.

I am happy for you, but you ought to look outside of Nigeria for your PhD because most US and other foreign universities provide fully funded PhD programs for international students.

Apart from the fact that the program will be fully funded, some schools will also give stipends to support students financially.

I had similar experience with you, I studied architecture during my ND, even although I graduated top of my class, I had no passion for the course. I wrote jamb and got admission to study mechanical engineering in OAU. It was one of the best decision I made.

Since you are almost done with your masters degree, I advise you to search for PhD positions in Europe. Focus on countries like Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

They have several funding depending on which area of physics you have specialized. Also, PhD is a job position in any of these countries. You will work as an early stage researcher and write your PhD dissertation around the projects you have completed.

I wish you best of luck.

Because I have a passion to help humanity to overcome their issues, I want to start practising after my masters but I’m skeptical

As soon as I realise I've wasted 5 years on stipends, to make matters worst my environment is still encouraging me to go take up those same jobs again.

Just make sure you graduate with at least a Second Class Upper, as that would improve your chances of achieving Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (GMBPsS) which you can use after your name (I have that already).

With that GMBPsS, you will be eligible to apply for UK sponsored visa jobs for the role of an Assistant Psychologist.

In the UK, only those who have achieved doctorate in Psychology are recognized as Psychologist, Masters and Bachelor's degree holders are classified as Assistant Psychologists.

Get clinical experience as much as you can, it will help in the long run.

For me I released after Working for 8 years as a Manager in a firm, yet the salaries nor still reach offsets bill.Again, most of the seniors in the industry weren't doing great in terms of finance.During meetings, just few own cars(majorly Camry pencil light). But the owners of the business seemed to do well though.

I think one of the major problems was the poor salary structure in the industry.I am trying to settle down for something entirely different from my years of experience, trusting God that soon, things will start falling into place for me.
300 level at the University. I switched two years later. Thank God I did. God has used it to transition me into the First World! Accept Jesus today!
