Asiwaju actually appointed the wrong people to work for him, they are just after their pockets and not how to save Nigeria from drowning. I never liked his choice of appointments
A goat can never give birth to a Lion. Tinubu only appointed people that be like him, people that work with him especially those Lagos boys.
Whatever you see those appointees doing is the same thing Tinubu will do if he is in their position.
A bigger thief can only appoint a small thief.
Like Tinubu like his appointees.

Then we would never have 24 hour light .

I mean the experts have said it, that Nigeria's problem is that the power sector is not allowed to charge a cost reflective tarrif.

So here we are..force someone to charge low prices, don't be surprised if there is big problems.

For anyone quoting me, read the article solving the liquidity crunch in the power sector.

If you don't want to believe it, I can't help thee
They are not charging low price and it is cost reflective tarrif. It has to do with FG trying to stop the payment of subsidy on power. It is about FG, not about Gencos and Discos not charging the cost reflective tarrif

A very incoherent government. Every single arm of this particular government is incoherent.

It is obvious that Tinubu doesn't know what to do with the country. It's like a man who doesn't know how to drive but enters an 18 wheeler trailer. Soon enough, he'll have a terrible accident.

APC should be deleted from our history books. Tinubu should be relegated and ostracized.

What Tinubu has done is what a President would have to do at some point. He has just decided it will be him, instead of kicking the can down the road like other presidents did. Buhari is the biggest mistake Nigeria had and the past 8 years is the price we are [paying now.

I know Nigeria can be better and Tinubu can do better, but the reality is that the country is BROKE!! We cannot used scarce dollars to defend Naira. Neither can we continue borrowing to fund subsidy.

Hahahaha.

Anybody that believes this hogwash is daft.

Akpabio doesn't care a hoot about the hyperinflation but he has to pretend to do so for the gullible.

When he meets with Tinubu at night- their discussions will revolve around how to scatter opposition parties and how to win more states for APC.

They won't even discuss on an increased stipend for Nairaland urrchns

Corruption can not fight corruption.

The problem of Nigeria under Jonathan was Corruption it was so bad that people saw Buhari as a change
But the Dullard was so old, illiterate & Nepotic that he could not see beyond his cows.
and for a change after 8 years of backwardness, terror and destruction.

Nigeria settled for the oldest King of corruption whom is famously known for being questionable..... to come and solve their main problem(corruption).

Brace up guys.... this is just 1 of 8 years.......

Just less than 9 months

undecided

You obviously don't know what's going on.

You are still using 'scarce' dollars to defend the Naira. The administration is using Project Gazelle to defend the currency - this information is in black and white on the federal government's own website. You are still borrowing to fund subsidy - the landing cost of imported PMS is still lower than the pumphead price. Where do you think the difference is coming from? undecided

The facts speak for themselves.

All the experts, and even recently your own minister of power have stated that the discos are not charging cost reflective tarrif.

The subsidy is even prime evidence that discos cannot charge a cost reflective tarrif.

Then the fact that gencos owe the gas companies 1.3 billion dollars is another good example.

I'll drop this here.

Speaking at the ongoing 2023 NESI market participants and stakeholders roundtable in Abuja, Sani Bello, chairman and board of directors of Maingtream Energy Solutions Limited, stated that the absence of a cost-reflective tariff has represented a major challenge that must be addressed to provide sustainable liquidity for the entire value chain.

He explained that the ever-present liquidity challenge exacerbated by inflation and a dearth of foreign currency has continued to affect the industry’s operations.

“While we acknowledge the effort of the current administration in trying to resolve and improve the foreign exchange environment, we look forward to a way out that will midwife an enabling environment for existing and prospective investors to thrive within the NESI.

What we continue to tackle today is the lack of cost ‘reflective tariff that will provide sustainable liquidity for the entire value chain, strengthened laws and enforcement of these laws that will criminalize and deter energy theft as well as non-payment of electricity bills,” he said.

SAUCE: BUSSINESS DAY

I know NIgerians are suffering, but we suffer power issues more because of the lack of a cost reflective tarrif. The road to hell is truly paved with good intentions.
Re: Senate To FG: Halt Any Plans Of Increase In Electricity Tariff by BreconHills(m): 6:06pm On Feb 21
Tariff increase on higher bands is inevitable. No one will invest in an industry where there is no profit.

I bought my NITEL mobile line for 90k in 1998 and my SIM card for 20k when MTN rolled out. Today how much is a SIM card?

All subsidies will go.

Timer switches will be the next big thing.
