The ANSIPPA team led by Mark Okoye II recently visited the ongoing Oduigbo Market Redevelopment construction site. The project, approved in Q4 of 2023, is expected to be completed before the end of 2024. 4 Likes

osita76:. Soludo is not serious. I don't know what he thinks he gains by playing to the gallery. Governments around the world are rated by their efficiency and quality of service delivery. These roads were among the very first roads he awarded immediately he was sworn in. That's almost two years of struggling with mere 14km roads. Shameful. Where is his commissioner for works? Why should the governor be the one moving around ascertaining the quality of roads when he has a commissioner for works who is a so-called engineer and is paid for doing nothing? It is either the commissioner for works is a thief or is grossly incompetent. Either way he should be fired or we will believe that he is sharing kickbacks with the governor. How will the state government recover its money already paid to the contractor for lousy job done and for time lost? I expected Soludo who is a first class economist to be so much smarter than this display of inefficiency and tardiness that his government has come to be known for. Didn't he know that something like this was going to happen when he awarded road contracts to these quack contractors he is using all over the place? How about using just two or three well-known reputable contractors and award them bulk road projects for which they will surely offer your government a discount and you can also rest assured that they will give you a quality finishing? This one year, one road government that Soludo is leading calls to question his competence to lead a government. I am beginning to think being highly educated does not always translate to being a competent administrator. Soludo has been disappointing so far. What he has offered so far doesn't show he has capacity to do exceptionally well. He can start redeeming himself by using only good contractors like RCC, Nigercat, CCECC and let them turn Onitsha, Obosi, Nkpor, Ogidi, Awka, Nnewi, Ekwulobia and our urban areas into a massive construction site, not this story of dubai-taiwan he is always telling and yet people are seeing squalor and incompetence everywhere. Let him borrow if necessary. Ndi Anambra won't mind as long as they see the borrowed funds in action. 5 Likes |

Ezewuzie01: I agree. Smart governors award contracts to PROVEN contractors. Let the big contractors then sub contract to smaller ones but be held accountable for delivery. Ngige was using RCC all through not Tamad, Paul B, IDC and more. The quality of roads under him is undeniable. But then Ngige is detail oriented while Soludo likes to bask in grand visions. He clearly does not have a good commissioner of works because when you make grand statements the job of a commissioner is to bring you down to reality by showing what it means step by step. 3 Likes |

Ezewuzie01: Mad people everywhere. Why are you avoiding mentioning Julius Berger to construct all the streets in Anambra state? Meanwhile, your type would NEVER pay even 0ne kobo in taxes! Yet, you are the first to recommend that the most fiscally reckless methods of achieving development be used in Anambra. If you want to build your village house and Julius Berger charges you N1 billion naira to build a three-bedroom bungalow, while a Nigerian contractor charges you 40 million naira for the same house, you will judiciously use the Nigerian contractor because you know there are no special equipment needed to build a village bungalow. But if it is government money, like Tinubu, you believe resources are INFINITE, or rather you can just print more money without consequences on the economy. Therefore government should just continue spending and borrowing more money for more wasteful expenditures on using Julius Berger to simply tar internal streets which can be done very well with simple construction equipment of Nigerian contractors. 5 Likes 1 Share |

cjrane: If you have visited the alleys of these countries, you will know that they are not so different from our people. The only thing these governments do is that, they prevent these things from happening by providing facilities people can trust to take away trashes from their communities without them keeping much within their space. I have monitored most european countries I have visited, they prevent crime by being proactive about the wellbeing of their people. If we want to have similar standard of living with these first world countries, the governors should invest in amenities that will naturally make people adhere to the rules and regulations without even trying. You walk round my city, you will waste bins tied to streetlights and you dont need to walk any distance to see that you can dispose your dirt. Humans are generally lazy to keep the environment clean, what government does is to enforce is through prevention or correction. Over the years, prevention have been found to help the society grow rather than the through punishments. We can build a real society and it comes generally from design and not correction. I have done quite a number of environmental research projects in Germany. These guys simulate every possible human thought-process that will put the society in danger. When they notice all the possible failures of the society, they design processes and amenities that will make it difficult (not impossible) to commit these crimes. That is the kind of society people trust and will make the people know that it will be difficult to do wrong without going out of their ways to do it. We commit so many societal crimes because it is easy to commit them and not because it is difficult for us to be punished. 2 Likes |

Stop spewing nonsense. Anambra is the right path of development and Anambra is equally the best when it comes to overall infrastructures and development in the entire eastern Nigeria. You are mentioning Germany, etc, as if there’s any Nigerian state that will get to that level even in the next hundred years Purehuman: 1 Like |

Jcoleworld911: I believe that we are not really open to international trends and how countries are positioning themselves to be bigger players in the industries. Any infrastructure that will not force capital inflows into the state is just building legacy projects. There are projects that will fund other projects and we are not undertaking those projects. Otti discovered that the state's cash-cow is Aba and he is doing everything to make the city liveable and investable for any investor. The power station in the city will come up on the 26th of February and it will further drive capital inflows into the city. We must understand that, Onitsha main market as it is doesn't have a high ceiling of growth anymore and needs to be modernized to bring big players into the city. Milan and Paris are known for clothing designs, Shanghai and shenzhen are known for commodity products, Dubai and other small cities are known for other big things but we still pride Onitsha of 1970s. He should have made Onitsha a priority that anything you want to get from any part of the world, will be gotten in Onitsha seamlessly. Onitsha needs to be redesigned to solve 2024 problems and not maintain the archaic outlook. The luck we have as a state is that money resides in the hands of the people and government can mobilize based on design to build something that people will align with and also utilize e-commerce to drag customers to the city. If Amazon finally establish a base in Abuja, it will steal a value chain of over 1billion dollars yearly from our people and we will have ourselves to blame for it. We also have Nnewi, that city has been lacking government patronage since Peter Obi. The city that houses the highest number of billionaires per square miles is having that low level of infrastructure? Which plan do we have for the city and what are we doing to make the city reach its potential. Many states in Nigeria suffer from lack of human capital development, but a city with a huge human capital development is suffering like that. Remember, this guy is collecting more money than his predecessors and also he is enjoying the oil producing state allocation but he can't think big. I see that you guys really love the chains. 4 Likes 1 Share |

FOXDOSSIER:The reason why I make these simple comparisons is because these are low hanging fruits. If we fail to design against failure, it will be the cause of our failure. I love my state and my people and I wish without any iota of doubt that things can be different from the design stage. It is always difficult to change when people have adopted the substandard level of development. |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by Purehuman(m): 7:03pm On Feb 21 |
cjrane: You and I know that these roads have an active life of at most 8-10years and our hard work monies will have to go back to repairing those roads. Are we not deceiving ourselves by building roads that the next governor will have to rebuild? The reason why I said, design against failure. Some cities collect council taxes to maintain roads and it has helped them to maintain roads e.g. the UK while some countries that built their cities to make it difficult for these roads to go bad e.g. Germany by providing a tram system that made most people use these public transport as against driving. When you do your calculations and see what is more feasible for your people, then you push the infrastructures that will sustain these things. 1 Like |

cjrane: Competent contractors are not all as expensive as Julius Berger......Craneburg is good and Arab contractors are cheaper than JB. There are certain roads you cannot give out to these 2 for a penny contractors Soludo is using! Soludo has lost 2 years fumbling with these quacks...he has 12 months to redeem himself! 1 Like |

afube: Keep deluding yourself. Do you think it is water that International construction companies based in Lagos and Abuja will use in deploying their equipment to the site? If we are talking about a very difficult road in a swampy area or major bridges, then of course it makes sense to call Julius Berger if there are no cheaper alternatives. You silly people are just pained that Soludo has continued to perform. The good thing is that Soludo is doing unscheduled inspections and ensuring that non-performing contractors are removed from the project. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUD9MLvQgRg See the quality of Soludo's roads, not even the federal roads have this thickness of cement stone base. So you can continue telling lies, people know their governor is performing extremely well. Go and hug a transformer if you are pained. FOXDOSSIER: Can you just shut the F**k up ! you are contributing nothing to this discourse.....Anambra is on the right track? Yet Soludo left the Onitsha Oba Owerri road ( the most consequential access road into onitsha) to rot away......he only did a patchwork there and painted disarranged concrete barriers "yellow and black"...is that what you call development! Truth be told ,this Soludo Administration is a 'NEAR FAILURE"!!! I am sure that even his most laudable projects will remain Uncompleted by the end of his administration...................The government house, the solution fun park etc.........the Awka 5 star hotel and his dubai projects will not even take off in this term! He just filled his administration with yes men and girls! aside that resourceful youngman in Ansippa. ( Mark okoye).........I feel sorry for that over worked dude! The deputy governor is on a cruise...doing nothing! All this at a time our people are being hounded all over the county! Soludo is just vexing me sha! 3 Likes |

Just shut up your dirty smelly mouth there. Yes, Anambra is on the right track. Oh you want to talk about Onitsha-Owerri road? Are you dumb ? What’s the role of the federal government? Yes, Anambra is on track because almost the whole of Anambra is a construction site, there’s no state in Nigeria that has equal amount of ongoing projects like Anambra. Awka five star hotel? Are you really dumb or you are pretending to be dumb? Wasn’t it Soludo that birthed the idea? Was it your own idea? Or you wanna play to the gallery? Oh the appointees aren’t working, if you weren’t dumb, maybe, Soludo would have considered you so that you will come do the magic. Useless arm chair critic afube: 3 Likes |

Good development. I haven’t seen any state government in Nigeria , not even the FG that’s doing this quality of roads and overall infrastructures that Soludo is doing in Awka, Onitsha and almost everywhere in Anambra. Anambra is very much in good hands and also the most developed Igbo state. Soludo is doing well cjrane: 5 Likes |

TEC construction company that constructed Niger street, Apaka GRA Onitsha etc, has been doing mega projects across Nigeria, serious I don't know why some Igbos are always bitter, so you think Gov Soludo will award contract to a company without making extensive research about the company, he took proactive measures when the contract failed to deliver and they stick to standard they where giving by Anambra State government, the roads were guaranteed to last 20yrs This is projects TEC construction company is handling, you guys are always quick to attack without making proper search about these companies, nonsense if it's Otti that is using the company you guys will not find fault 6 Likes

Criticisms of the slow road projects aside, I commend Soludo for closing down several poorly located markets that are an eyesore such as tomatoes market by army barracks and the coke market by Onitsha Owerri expressway. It is very commendable. He has also ordered Ogbo iron in Fegge to relocate to Nteje within three months. I salute his courage. That what proactive governors do. He is not a coward like the demented Peter Obi who allowed Abada market near the banks of river Niger to remain there after initially threatening them to stop work on the place. Soludo should speed up work on the new drug market in Oba so that he can relocate them from head bridge as soon as possible because they are a nuisance there. He must not give in to pressure to rescind his decisions because we know those traders will trade on top of roads if nobody checks them. The government must now come up with new plans for those markets it has seized like giving them to developers for modern shopping malls, office buildings, or recreational parks etc. Soludo should also remove the Nkpor /Mgbuka markets from the express while plans should be accelerated to relocate and demolish the Abada market by the banks of the Niger. It is an eyesore to visitors entering Onitsha from the old bridge. 2 Likes |

Go and see what Alex Otti is doing with his own 30 billion in Aba..................Otti has visited Tinubu 4 times to convince him to repair the Port Harcourt to Aba highway........Otti visits that site every month......... Meanwhile our lecturer governor went to headbridge to buy yellow and black paint to spray on concrete median barriers on onitsha - owerri road...........talk about applying 💋 on a pig! That road needs total rehabilitation even if done by Anambra government, they can apply for a refund from fg later. The 14 billion he wasted on okpoko should have been applied to onitsha owerri road! You need to start watching YouTubers from Anambra to understand this eg Anambra diaries, tv, Godwin$blessing etc. Thanks 4 Likes |
