Good day Nairalanders

It is no longer funny how things skyrocket every day in this country, with salary remaining the same in some quarters, but that's not the major reason for my writing here.
The issue is that in Port Harcourt, Rivers state Nigeria the price is like double of what is obtainable in other states, for instance a sachet water is #50 naira,I went out to get a bottle of Nutri Milk and the seller told me #450 naira, though I had the money I cannot imagine something that I bought 300 naira some days ago increasing to that amount.
I think that somehow that of Port Harcourt is on another level.

Please how is it your side

Bros it's the same with Abuja . As I speak to you a bag of pure water is now selling for 500 naira while hawkers are selling at 50 naira a sachet. That's how crazy this country is .

And with the way things are going , I foresee anarchy

Another man's currency is determining how we feed and live our lives, na warm up be this.

I went to the next shop and got it for 400 and 250 respectively.

This same shop some1 wanted to buy closeup paste they told the person 1,250

Ikwerre man go give Ogoni man shop for free?
The one who sells cheaper is Ogoni
The expensive one is Delta and Igbo
Re: Price Increase Of Foodstuff Is Unbearable In Port Harcourt by Walai(m): 7:49pm On Feb 24
I used to criticize this traders but when I came closer to them, I couldn't help but pity them.
Low patronage (cos of fall in purchasing power), high cost of running business, low profit margin etc.
I know there are bad eggs though undecided

Price of nutri milk is 450-500 naira
That's the Balablue price everywhere PH is not different

Sellers can also add some money to mitigate against the rising cost of stuffs

What they bought for 5000 naira today will be sold at 6000 naira the next time they buy

Maybe Maitama, but then why would you buy sachet water if you are residing there.

What part of Lugbe are you?

Some of the sellers are taking undue advantage of others. Ask how much they buy a bag of water. Its #300 and it's 20 sachets. Now selling at #50 makes it #1000 which is #700 profit. That's more than 300% profit.

That's wickedness. Some Nigerians are more devilish than their leaders.

You don't even know what you're saying. The people who sold theirs cheap may not have known the current price of that product. Price of things increase almost everyday. If a trader does not always confirm latest price from his suppliers, he may sell at the lower price thinking he's making profits while he's actually running at a loss.

You can't afford to sell your products lower than you bought them, can you?
