I used NIN as the ID-Card in one of my accounts..

But the directive that was given was for Linking NIN with BVN..

Not just BANK ACCOUNT.

You beat me to creating this topic. GTB has been bombarding me with messages to link my NIN with my bank account on their website. I've navigated the entire website carefully but there's no link where one can do that. They said one can dial *737*20*NIN# which I tried and was not successful. Anybody that has successfully linked their NIN to accounts should kindly put us through.

When you open the Internet banking page go to help & security, click on it and the page will open for you to inputs your details. I must say the page is very unresponsive

Lol, who owns a bank account that isn't Linked with their BVN or NIN? Long ago when you were opening the account.

Your account must be new. Those of us with bank accounts older than 10 years only have our BVN linked. We've not been able to link NIN but banks are now making it compulsory

Banks have issues circulars for customers to link their NIN and BVN to their accounts and the deadline is near.

GT Bank seems to have released the modality for doing that but it hardly works. The website after filling my details won't even send me an OTP in order to continue with the process.

When opening a bank account, you always submit application forms containing your BVN and NIN. What NIN and BVN still require to be linked again? I don't understand.

not everyone opened their account last month. Some people have been using their account for years now and nin wasn't something then.

I submitted my details (a copy of my NIN and BVN slip) with access bank yesterday. As for GTB, I couldn't go ahead because of the crowd. I will try again next week as I'm not around to do so.

ALAT by Wema, yes seamlessly.
Just update your Wema Alat app and you will be able to link your NIN without any issue

I don't know if this can be done in proxy but the guy assured me that soon banks will roll out codes that will enable customers to link their NIN without coming to the bank.

There was a time we were all asked to link our BVNs in 2015. Though I opend most of my accounts more than 20yrs ago, but each time I need to update information on my accounts, my proof of current address, BVN and NIN are always requested. Do you mean some people don't see anything to update on their accounts after using it for many years?

Have done it, though I noticed the link is slow to open even with my high speed Internet. Did this from outside the shores of Nigeria

GTBANK customers:

Take a clear picture of your NIN and attach to an email to gtbankmailsupport@gtbank.com.

Include account name, account number, nin and virtual-nin in the mail while clearly stating your request for NIN-ACCOUNT Linkage.

You'll receive a response within 24hrs.

To get vnin: download the nimc app on your phone and follow the menu for vnin.

You don't have to receive successful message about the linking process with GTB. I did mine and was getting "identification verification failed" Had to put a call through and was told it has been linked. So call them and ask if it has been successful...

Exactly!
Had same issue until I logged in to my internet banking profile and saw the NIN linked while I got verification failure messages while trying to link my NIN.

I linked mine via the link in the GT website. It did no work initially but after 2 days it finally worked for me.
