Imo State $4.2 Billion Gas Plant Set For Commissioning by OfficialAPCNig: 9:42am On Mar 01
Two independent gas projects (Seplat and Shell) are currently set for completion in Imo.

Here are 9 things you need to know about this project:

1. Seplat gas project costs $700 million while Shell gas project costs $3.5 billion, totalling $4.2 billion, which is more than the GDP of Ogun State, the most industrialised state in Western Nigeria after Lagos.

2. Both projects are located in the Asa North - Ohaji (ANOH) gas processing area.

3. Seplat plant will produce 300 million metric standard cubic feet of gas daily while Shell plant will produce 600 MMscfd, equivalent of 2.4 GW (not MW) of electricity.

4. At completion, Asa North - Ohaji (2 LGAs in Imo) will produce 900 MMscfd, which will make the zone Nigerian gas powerhouse and with a GDP that is about 1.2x bigger than the GDPs of Ogun and Ondo, 1.5X bigger than Oyo GDP, and 2.5x bigger than Ekiti and Osun GDPs.

5. ANOH gas zone will supply steady gas to Ogun state via a gas pipeline.

6. Shell gas project sits on a 200 hectares of land.

7. Both projects will be commissioned this year. Seplat project is due for completion on Q3 2024.

8. The Assa North and Ohaji fields contain reserves of 4.3 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of gas in addition to 215 million barrels (Mmbbls) of condensate.

9. The Seplat and Shell gas plants will produce a combined 900 MMscfd which is equivalent to 6.3 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). So, Imo alone will produce 10.5X the current Nigerian domestic gas production capacity (600,000 TPA) and 4.5X Nigerian annual gas usage (1.4 MTPA). It means that Imo will produce in one year the amount of gas Nigeria consumes in 4 and half years.

No.

Anambra has the largest untapped reserve. It's actually 5X that of Imo (1,000 TCF, while Imo is 200 TCF). We are saving Anambra reserve for the future.

My Abia also has a large gas deposit. It's powering our Geometric Power plant will also power the Enyimba Economic City and Abia Industrial Innovation Park, an initiative that will generate a projected $780 million annual revenue to the state government.

If you want to depopulate Lagos

Tell tinubu to present a bill that would make all ports equal

You can import what ever you want from any port you want

That's all

Great, but the question is, will it be well utilized by Hope Uzodinma? Anything that is of APC looks like anti-success to me.
APC is allergic to success and progress. The only thing APC is good at is preparing for the next election.

say what you know, and learn from what you don’t know, shell and slepat investment on gas in Imo state which will be commissioned later this year, is double the size of the whole gdp of southwest excluding Lagos , infact gas will be supplied from Ohaji -Ogun state through gas pipeline , like the akk pipeline .

They, (APC) allowed it because it didn't come from government coffers. Multinational companies put all these together. It will be difficult for this government to cough out such hefty amount of money for that project.
They'll rather use it to execute fruitless objectives.

Do you think you're talking with an illiterate like yourself?. what did the useless screenshot proof?, is that an official source?. At least, OP gave a source from SEPLAT that the reserve is 4.3trillion. Do you want to compare this small cup of gas to Bayelsa, Rivers or Akwa ibom that has the largest serving the country for over four decades?. small boy, stop playing.

Anambra has the largest UNTAPPED gas reserve while IMO has the largest tapped gas reserve.

Two different things.

4.3 TCF is the gas reserve of just two wells that will serve the ANOH gas plants. Imo controls 2/3 of Nigeria tapped 200 TCF gas reserve.

Total IMO reserve is over 130 TCF.

Be guided
