Every where is filled with irrational exuberance galore! If you're a newbie like me,just buy yourself Zenith Bank shares every month. 7 Likes |

EDUECO: Same here. Zenith is one of the safest stock for newbie long-term investors to avoid stress. It's price appreciation might be slow but steady due to organic growth backed by results. Just buy as your power reach every month end and you will be fine in the long run. 3 Likes |

Agbalowomeri:You dey mind am.No be only #218 na #2018.The only reason people believe transcorp will see #500 and above is just the manipulation that happened in geregu power company by ote.what was the eps of mtn before listing and now as listed company. We will buy power at the right time .It is just that Tony is using transcorp plc to achieve his personal goal/his fmly. The one we got from uba was because of cbn been dey the matter......Apr and ucap 1 Like |

Year 2022 was clearly stated. And from the 2022 AFS, there were no outstanding shares... Yes! The 2024 EPS will be diluted but does that water down the comparative analysis with GEREGU? NO! See the bigger picture... chillykelly86: |

emmanuelewumi: Thanks. Can you please post the financial statement here if you have it. |
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 6:10pm On Mar 04 |
emmanuelewumi:based on their posted PAT, their current eps could be less than 7 naira. Note also that Elumelu sabi separate Eps attributable to owners of the company and eps attributable to noncontrolling members. But its the power sector, and with geregu as competitor, eps would not have much relationship with price. 3 Likes |

Abeg to those in IT sector. Which part of the raw materials really took this much loss from mtn as per forex loss.Is it all this outdated mask everywhere. I see it as mtn just trying to short changed shareholders and naija government of what ever it is supposed to pay. Then what exchange rate did most of this companies use to determine the forex loss. And I hope all this forex loss ended with 2023 financial year if naira stabilizes from now. How come most of the forex upwards review lwas not transferred to thr customers like regular business men on the street who import. 2 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by owolabi5: 7:37pm On Mar 04 |
Streetinvestor2: MTN is Highly Geared. Their operations are mostly funded by loans especially foreign currency denominated ones. Almost all the equipments they use are imported from the likes of Ericsson, Siemens, etc; hence they pay the companies in dollars. Even licence fees are in dollars. Most of these telcos usually raise this huge funds in dollars from banks. 5 Likes 1 Share |

owolabi5:The truth of the matter, no government or tax authority can force an individual nor a quoted company to declare profit or pay a direct taxes on earnings. The decision is yours, all they need from you is a financial statements. The Auditor/s usually request for receipt of expenditures , contract, loans and overdraft advances. As a sole proprietor, I ensure all my on and off business expenditures are directly and indirectly transferred to my Entrrprise. The implication of this is that the government cannot and would never get a direct income tax from me, coz I I was not employed by them nor listed on their payroll. MTNN just decided to show Nigeria government and shareholders a maximum shege BARAWO BANZA. You will need a all the forensic auditors in Africa to investigate MTNN. We are just @ ther mercy |

Mankind2024: * MTN's exposure: MTN has foreign currency-denominated liabilities (e.g., dollar-denominated debt) and local assets and liabilities (e.g., masts, office equipment, and naira-denominated debts). * Impact on financials: With the naira's devaluation, the value of MTN's naira assets and liabilities remained the same, while its foreign currency liabilities increased when converted to naira. This difference resulted in a reported foreign exchange loss. Also, MTN's operational performance was very good, but the currency fluctuation adversely impacted their financial statements. |

MTN's financial statements were released, yet some people chose to believe in conspiracy theories that make no sense. Why would MTN want to fake losses? 1 Like

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Heishere: 9:40pm On Mar 04 |
Mankind2024: There is no mago mago here. The major reason for the loss is the dollar denominated contract with the likes of IHS and co who manage almost all the towers across the country. Recently they have been working on new contracts with other vendors that will require them to only pay in Naira. The same is applicable to other telcos. Airtel 9 months result only made 2Million dollars and this is the global business. Wait for their full year result and check that of Nigeria subsidiary and you will notice similar trend. Una government messed up the country. The good thing is that they too are affected because the billions of naira they normally receive in tax from these companies is gone until things improve. 4 Likes |
