Coach Chris Danjuma has picked goalkeeper Anderline Mgbechi, defender and captain Oluchi Ohaegbulem, midfielder Adoo Yina and forward Chiamaka Okwuchukwu in his list of 20 players to represent Nigeria in the women’s football event of the 13th African Games.

Also named are goalkeeper Faith Omilana, defenders Shukurat Oladipo and Jumoke Alani, midfielders Chioma Olise and Olushola Shobowale and forwards Blessing Okpe and Judith Okah.



Defending champions Nigeria have been housed in Group B alongside Morocco, Senegal and Cameroon, while hosts Ghana will contend with Ethiopia, Tanzania and Uganda in Group A. Matches will take place at the Cape Coast Stadium. The Falconets won the gold medal in the women’s football event of the 12th African Games that took place in Rabat, Morocco in October 2019.

I would love a group of Spain, Brazil, Colombia though… this 3 teams play different pattern of Football…

We should be able to hold our own against the Brazilian and Colombia side but as for Spain we really need to be compact defensively and our Counter game have to be on point..

I'll prefer USA cause they're the most beatable in my opinion. We almost beat them at home last year. Spain cause I'll like to see what we look like playing them but USA gives us the best opportunity to progress in my opinion.

Femininity has got nothing to do with it though. Not all masculine presenting females are good footballers. As a matter of fact some of the best women's footballers in the world are very feminine. She's just hasn't proven herself to be good enough.
