The Presidency just dey do nonsense and its embarrassing. The lady has the right to vote for whoever she wants in the first place, that right is guaranteed under the constitution.

She's obviously competent enough to have appointed her in the first place, announce it to the public and then go ahead to withdraw the appointment based on guaranteed right to vote for whoever she wants.

Just yesterday, the President was telling the Governors that its time for Governance and not politics and then go ahead to do this, how will the Governors even take him serious on that?

Simple background and due diligence would've avoided this if they dont want to appoin someone that voted for the opposition (it's not like they havent been appointing oppositions anyways) and save the lady from the unnecessary embarrassment of stepping down her nomination after making it public.

Now the fact that her nomination was pushed and then about to be withdrawn shows there are people in the presidency who value politicking more than actually keep the country going .

It even turns out she wasn't the first person he nominated for the position, there was one other person he nominated, but he had to decline because there'd be a conflict of interest with his consultancy role in the world bank. I'm sure he must have thought the man would jump at the offer so didn't even bother to consult him before announcing his name.
